I think I finally found an animated series that I can enjoy. I’ve been going through the Star Wars timeline, and this one came up; gave it a try, and it’s … better than average. Maybe Dave Filoni wasn’t involved lol

yeah … it is a great series. It is a lot more consistent than Clonewars IMHO.

And they are in Shatterpoint too with 4 squad boxes (“Stronger than fear”, “Make the impossible possible”, “That’s good business” and “Not Accepting Surrenders”)

I guess I’m not supposed to post links to shatterpoint db website ?

Links are sometimes random here 😂

SO MUCH BETTER than Clonewars, or Bad Batch. Those are unwatchable.

Turns out Filoni is part of Rebels – usually his stuff is utter crap.

I’ve watched Clone Wars, Bad Batch and Rebels. The last 4 episodes of season 7 of Clone Wars are worth watching. Ties in with end of Episode 3 of the prequel movies (which were dire… but as not bad as the sequels).

Rebels is great! I generally like Filoni stuff except Bad Batch was rough. Clone Wars was meh when George Lucas was involved. The last couple seasons where it was just Filoni running it, it got a lot better.

I think Clonewars in general helped setup the downfall of Anakin better than the trilogy ever did.
It also sets up the bad batch …

    Bad Batch ?
I’d say they kind of forgot what they wanted the series to be about.

I think I have yet to watch any of the prequels other than phantom menace for the entire runtime. What did help the prequels was having an overall plot that had to be resolved. The sequels didn’t know what they wanted and forgot that the movies had to have some sort of relation to each other.

Anyways … Rebels is probably the best Starwars since the original trilogy with the exception of Andor and the initial season of Mandalorian.

I hate to be the contrarian, but I think ‘Clone Wars’ – both of them in their own way – are way superior to ‘Rebels’.  Especially from season three on.  The episodes that highlighted the plight of the humble clone trooper were the best imho. I have watched both Clone Wars several times, but I could barely get through ‘Rebels’.  Different strokes for different folks I guess.

no no no … the concensus is that clonewars sucks and rebels is da best.
Don’t ruin it by being a contrarion …

Heresy ! Burn the heretic !

    just kidding …

if everyone liked everything then the world would be boring.
The episodes focussed on the clone troopers were great.

@limburger Merry Xmas and a happy New Year to you to my friend.

@nightrunner – totally fine! In the Spirit of Christmas, I’ll allow it 😂

Seriously though, Star Wars, other than the first three (4-6), is so personal for everyone. Some like parts, some don’t. Everyone has their favourites, and their … least favourites.

I’ve been on a Star Wars kick lately, so I’m doing a deep dive into what I haven’t watched.

As an aside, I’m also watching the He-Man (1983) original series! (It’s SO MUCH FUN!).

He-Man (1983) – Now you’re talking, finally common ground! It took a whole year, but we finally got there. Merry Xmas.

    Merry xmas.

When I was a teenager the xmas movies were Star Wars and James Bond.

When Star Wars Legion came out with the Prequel starter box set and then other boxes I ignored it as the movies 12&3 hadn’t drawn me in like the OG 456.

But a friend urged me to watch the first two movies then start and finish the entire Clone Wars run.  I was hooked on grabbing the Prequel stuff after that.  IMHO it does make Anikin’s story much better.

I agree to each their own.

But it helped my hobby time progress.  Without it i would have been missing half of the Shatterpoint stuff as well!

Yes my wallet would not have bled as much to Shatterpoint and Legion, but I would have found something else to spend the cash on any way!    I’m so weak I’m still wishing that they hadn’t given up on Armada.   Oh well…..

the master builder series for Starwars is funny and surprisingly good show, despite being a kid-show set in the LEGO version of the Starwars universe.

(and it had two cool super weapons that would have been more fun than whatever the heck they did in the sequels … )

+1 for loving Star Wars Rebels (my profile pic didnt give it away did it?). It just worked on so many levels that i think the other cartoons didn’t. It appealed to the parents who know the lore in the right way and it appealed to the children who had it thrust upon them.

for me it also introduced me to ahsoka and hondo as i didnt have access to the clone wars until after i found rebels. ive rewatched it several times and clone wars only once which says a lot.
