About the Project

In 1712 IC, the proud province of Solland was razed by Gorbad Ironclaw. Amidst the chaos, a hidden sect of vampires—disguised as fleeing Solland aristocrats—escaped to Averland. Over the centuries, they grew in secrecy, calling themselves the Cabal of the Sun. Now, in 2276 IC, their new master, the Dwarf Vampire Varrik von Nachthall, has seized control of the Cabal and returned to his shattered homeland. Varrik seeks vengeance and resurrection—of Solland's honour and of the ancient Dwarfen might that once ruled its mountains and valleys. To that end, he raises the dead from the rubble of lost towns and battlefields. And in the deep places of the world, whispers stir. News travels through traders and drunkards' tales: a dark power rises in Solland. Drawn by prophecy or doom, Dwarf Slayers abandon their holds and march toward the Empire—seeking death. But death in Solland gives no rest. They fall in battle… and rise again, not in Grimnir's halls, but in Varrik's cursed legions.

Varrik seeks vengeance and resurrection—of Solland’s honour and of the ancient Dwarfen might that once ruled its mountains and valleys. To that end, he raises the dead from the rubble of lost towns and battlefields.

And in the deep places of the world, whispers stir. News travels through traders and drunkards’ tales: a dark power rises in Solland. Drawn by prophecy or doom, Dwarf Slayers abandon their holds and march toward the Empire—seeking death. But death in Solland gives no rest. They fall in battle… and rise again, not in Grimnir’s halls, but in Varrik’s cursed legions.

Decals

Sun and Sorrow Rises

Using the Solland entry from Uniforms and Heraldry of the Empire, I created a set of custom decals to ground this army firmly in established Old World lore. The original heraldic motifs—suns, crosses, and provincial iconography—were carefully extracted using AI-assisted image tools, then digitally cleaned, refined, and reworked into high-contrast, print-ready designs. These were formatted specifically for waterslide decal paper, allowing authentic Solland heraldry to appear consistently across banners and shields too eventually while still reflecting the army’s undead corruption.
