Their owner wanted these in homespun colours so I need to break out the browns and greys. I don’t have those in Contrasts and the Speedpaints are a bit bright for the look he is after. I’m going to use the Woodland Scenics terrain pigment paints I used for my Draugr. Skintone was the Contrast Guilliman Fleshtone which matches the rest of the Saxons. Then on with the pigments. Mostly these are a single coat and they don’t settle quite the way Contrast does so need a bit of manual encouragement. Best to let it settle first and then add to it or move it around before is starts to dry – you get quite a long working time as these aren’t paints and the medium is much slower drying than with an acrylic paint.
