Happy Sunday!
Great XLBS, as usual
Happy Sunday!
Woo-Hoo! It’s SUNDAY….XLBS TIME!!!
Happy ‘early’ Sunday!
Should call them BoW Hobby Cribs
Welcome to Desks of War…
Pimp my paintstation
“Yo dawg I heard you like TVs so I put a tv in your airbrush and one in your quick dip pot”
Happy Sunday!
Happy SUNDAY!! Would love to win the Joker edition
Happy Sunday.
happy Sunday guys !
Happy Sunday.
Happy Really Late Saturday Night!!
@lloyd can you do hobby lab for the flags with modifiable templates.
Happy Sunday
This is the awesome version of this rulebook. Would love to get a copy.
I don’t know how anyone who likes gaming and/or Beasts of War can pass up being a backstager! I wish there was a weekender every day. More Batman coverage please!
So looking forward to Batman content and related Hobby Labs.
Actually like the concrete Lloyd
and the banners 🙂
I think John should take a look here, Dune to the current Sci-Fi genres is like LOTR to Fantasy! http://www.dunenovels.com/author/frank-herbert
Oh my life!!!! I ve just an hours sleep!!!Why don’t the Grandchildren understand this???? Must be the Joker
Happy Sunday… can I have a book now?
Happy Sunday!
happy sunday
Happy Sunday night here in NZ . So true about all the greys, trying a brown pallet for buildings myself.
Just saw the new Thunderbirds are Go footage on TV One news using both miniatures and CGI.
Happy gaming guys’
Ho-bby Lab! Ho-bby Lab!
Can’t help myself when he starts talking about concrete.
Happy Sunday – and let’s get painting!
There are two types of people in the world, those that can only build a particular model out of Lego with the aid of the instructions and those given a random selection of Lego bricks who then make many different things from them. I think DeadDave may be of the latter grouping! ; )
Still got all my Lego 😉
I can’t wait to see more on Dave creating his own mini. I think it looks fantastic
Happy sunday
Happy Sunday guys .
FLAGS!!!!!!!!!
i have been looking at that site you guys talked about a while ago to make a mini for my D&D maby even a whole dungeon party
Awesome show. You may send my rulebook now. 🙂
No really.
Seriously.
Blimey! not many forgot to set their clocks forward! Great show guys.
epic show as always!
All the concrete I see is grey, a lot lighter than the original AT stuff, but still grey…
The colour Lloyd used would be better for stone buildings, most are made out of sandstone as it is a lot easier to work with
Happy Sunday and some XLBS lovin
I feel you guys spend too much of the show just talking about what hobby you did over the past few days. I don’t mind a quick discussion about it. IMHO though you should spend less time talking about it and get on to other things. It almost feels like it’s being stretched out as filler because you don’t have anything better to talk about. Not meaning any offense. Just stating my feelings as a subscriber.
My 1st xlbs and I enjoyed it, keep it up guys
Happy Sunday!
Great show!
love reading rules while eating my …..dinner …dinner ….dinner
Happy Sunday….my hobby space is a disaster stretching from the kitchen to the actual hobby room.
I can’t believe that someone would make such a crappy comment about someone else foray into uncharted territory ! What are they , a mini sculpting expert ? Can’t say anything nice then shut the f!$** up ! By the way , GREAT FLAGS !!!!!!!!
UUmmm Flags? Noooooooo! Well done guys always enjoy your weekend rambles! loving the new 40K stuff as I’m getting back into 40K myself right now.
HAPPY SUNDAY!!!
Those banners look cool.
Good thing this wasn’t put on youtube, it might get “flagged” 😀 (OK I’ll stop)
I would love have a dedicated hobby station, and looking at other peoples areas are giving me some ideas on building it.
Especially when I hear that people are making them on the cheap
if you want any ideas drop me a line apart from the paint racks shown and a few christmas and birthday treas mine was built from cheap finds and scrap stuff. Even though im on my own now with just the dog, years of conditioning made me keep it to one room even though i dont need to (damm ex wifes training lol) i would be happy to offer any tips ive learnt
Love the mechanicum designs, and I can’t wait for more of it, but if these guys turn out to be as broken as the Imperial knights, my playtime with 40k is gonna take another hit
My own minis would be –
Undead Roman legions
Undead Samurai
My own line of highly detailed resin superhero minis
“Another game?!” the wife says. “Oh, it’s Batman?…..Carry on…”
Best wife ever.
Didnt Black Tree/Harlequin do some undead Romans?
There’s a couple of places which do undead samurai as well but in both cases, I’m not a big fan of the minis.
Awesome looking miniature concept… I hope we finally see it come true.
I like a good old-fashioned green and think it still does some things better than CAD, but I probably would CAD too. In large part for the reasons mentioned in the show, but also because if the mini was primarily for myself, I wouldn’t necessarily have to get it cast up, but could use the 3D print.
Morning bow. Time for some back stage shenanigans 🙂
happy sunday!
Happy sunday!
Those minis on that guys desk are the old plastic warzone ones, and if Lloyd’s wife is into 3D puzzles, why doesn’t he just give her some mantic battlezones or some other terrain project to complete?
Damn beaten to it lol.
He’s right. Those are the plastic Warzone Bauhaus / Imperial minis from the old boxed game.
good morning I just want to share with you with my quick review I did about batman game I had last week – its awsome! http://miniaturesconversion.blogspot.co.uk/2015/03/my-first-batman-game-from-knight-models.html
Bon dimanche à tous 🙂
and relaxe the xlbs weekender is back !
Happy Sunday all!
Time to get painting more WWX miniatures while listening to a little XLBS!
I’m looking forward to seeing DeadDave’s design process- If I could get a miniature made it would be a post-apocalyptic prospector in a heavy-duty exo-mining suit…
You must be joking! I want to be joking!
Happy sunday. Love the design concepts. Would like to c what turns out of this.
yes plz happy sunday
I like the banners.
Rather than just a pdf, which would be great for dust players, what about putting the .psd file up so people can modify it for their own factions themselves? Gets over the legal issues and acts as a base to work from.
Really interesting show covering lots of hobby topics these are why I joined backstage looking forward to Dead Dave’s journey I would love to have my own miniature made, seeing it from concept to final model will be really interesting.
Cheers,
Thanks for posting show.
If you want to draw fire to your tower, just slap a massive red flag on it 😉
I would like the book that stares into my soul with eyes of madness, oh yes, I would.
Batman looks absolutely fantastic and the mix of batman timelines is awesome
Happy Sunday!
The Necronomicon?
Love to see some banners
I would certainly purchase one of DeadDave’s models because it would look great with JoeK’s Hephaestus model and I am sure I’d be able to fit them into some sort of army/force.
As for myself, if I was to get models made, it would be for a unit of Undead Dwarfs. I know there are some out there but nothing to make a varied 28mm unit or 2. If I won the lottery there would be a miniature company producing Undead everything in hard plastic… It would lose money but I’d have an awesome Undead army, and still be rich from the lottery…haha!
I’ve painted my concrete all wrong, now I’m sad… One hour less sleep and the realisation that I don’t know what colour concrete is… Sad Sunday, Sad Sunday…
Big Batman fan here. Would love to win the Joker rulebook.
Yes please for more Dust content and banners 🙂 and I’m sure they wouldn’t mind using their logos
Justin, it is MECHANICUS not MECHANUS!!
:: pedant mode off ::
Happy Sunday!
I love the look of Dead Dave’s minis. Space marines are loosely based on Romans, why not Greeks?
They could be a lost legion battling their way through space over thousands of years to get back to the imperium, picking up new tech and evolving as they go.
well done Dave, I wish I had your artistic ability! (Fast clap) 🙂
XLBS needs more flegs!
Great weekender fellas
Happy Sunday.
Hats off to Dead Dave – it looks like it is going to be a very interesting journey. Many of us over the years have scratchbuilt or customised figures, units and armies to make them ‘our own’ but it takes guts to say I am going to design and make my own figures – and to do it publicly beforehand. Good luck with the project Dave!
You could do some French flags to hang from the windows of Normandy buildings and Nazi banners to hang from the Chateau HQ
The banners idea is brilliant.
Happy sunday.
You got a rule book of the JOKER miniature game!!
Is batman dead? 😉 Oh non Gothman realize that only Joker is fun.
Having watched the entire episode now, I feel like you missed an opportunity to open the episode by welcoming the viewers to this week’s episode of “Fun with Flags” 😀
As for the banners on the Warzone table, I don’t think banners are something the Dark Legion would do (if you were going to have the ‘city’ half of the table represent the edge of a Citadel, but if you wanted to make it a Bauhaus fortification instead with lots of low, square concrete buildings, then a few blue banners with yellow cogs wouldn’t go amiss.
Happy Sunday!!!!!
Lloyd’s tower needs some streaks. General rain streaks plus consider – where does the rainwater that collects in that roof (picking up some rust) run to?
Liking the concrete look. Again you could take a knife/file and take chunks out of the sharp edges, even revealing the occasional steel strengthening rod (rust?)
Happy Sunday, now back to painting tanks…… also gimme
batman.
Stop talking and give me the prize dammit!!
Happy Sunday. I love the hobbie talk but you need to make the xlbs longer to include more talk about batman 🙂
Well I would totally sculpt myself into an archmagos because it’s socially unacceptable to mechanically augment my real body! If I had a few pairs of mechandrites I could do the dishes, put the bins out and hoover all at the same time! (Bit excited about the new releases!)
happy sunday.
Happy sunday !
Great show as always, love the idea of creating my own miniature so will be following this series of articles!
If I was designing my own miniature I would come up with some macabre looking monster undead thing! I don’t even know what I would use it for, just as long as it looks disturbing and uncomfortable to look at as it wipes out the other players units. Maybe some kind of undead zombie spider frog with a giant fetal skull for a head. Something big enough to fit on a 100x150mm base…..
Or I could just do a space marine to earn a slow clap if I’ve disturbed you too much 😛
Phew, that was close, your enthusiasm nearly made me buy a GW product, even went to their webstore but clicked out when there were no special offers for bulk buy.
Loved the banners
Big Nazi flags on 4ground houses as HQs could look stunning for Bolt Action
Happy Sunday!
My wife has been gracious enough to grant me most of our basement as my man-cave. I’ve got the big screen TV mounted on the wall. My work area is a corner computer desk all set up with my paints and hobby tools. There are a couple of built-in wall shelves for holding rulebooks and terrain, and I have a pair of IKEA shelves that hold 12″ x 12″ bins full of games and models I’ve not gotten to yet. There’s a permanent 4×6 table on the far end for actual gaming, enough space to set up two more if we move the couches out of the way. It’s got wall-to-wall carpeting and a dedicated restroom.
The only thing it really lacks is good lighting over the gaming table. I’ve got to depend on floor lamps for that at the moment, but the ceiling is a drop ceiling and canister lights for above the table are inbound.
for the lighting look towards an industrial non flicker gas sealed flourescent, my dad got me one from a clearance sale and ive seen them in clearance sales from garages and workshops etc. its not the same as daylight but its what i have over my bench for night work and dull days, some people will argue the fact you should not use one but this type are in workshops and machinery spaces for a reason and i havent noticed any difference in my painting either day or night. i also made a fish tank style reflector to direct al the light downward simple mdf spray mount and kitchen foil works a treat. hope it helps
Happy Sunday
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Happy Sunday – in for the Batman book.
Happy Sunday!!
I’d probably make a miniature of myself if I think of it. And I really like the concept of Deaddave’s mini nice stuff.
Happy Sunday… total lay in this morning…also my year anniversary of being a backstager. 🙂
Just in it to win it. Happy sunday y’all
Happy Sunday
I like the whole making your own mini conversation. I think I’d make a really customized Spec-ops guy for Infinity.
Happy Sunday, wish my hobby space wasnt just wherever i can find room to spread all my stuff out. Just finished painting my Dropzone Commander army whilst watching this video. Have a good day gaming everyone
Happy Sunday! Great show as always guys!
Looooovvveeee the Mechanicum too! Although could you please explain to Justin that it’s Mech-Can-I-Cus and NOT MECH-CAN-US!
Was really annoying…..
Happy Sunday
I used to record on VHS Batman the animation show episodes from ProSieben.
Well about making your own miniature. Many times I hear people criticising new miniatures that are released. Well making your own miniature gives a person the opportunity to prove that they can do it better. Or can they??
Hi guys, whilst still good show, the jumping around from host to host disrupted the flow.
Happy Sunday Guys!
Hobby rooms to make me feel inferior, that predator stuff has me jealous. Im also loving the look of that ‘not’ spacemarine design.
Thunderbirds are truly a go!
Love the show keep up the good work
Love the banners. PDF’s would be great.
Lloyd showing how even the simplest of projects can grow legs and take over our hobby time, I’m currently working out how to start on my IG/AM that’s still in boxes, some of it for more than 10 years :p
If I were to invest to make a model then it would more than likely be an Axe wielding, chainmail clad mini me. So yeah it pretty much goes along with the point you guys were making.
anyone think that if we ask nice enough, Lloyd will do us some flags for the Mechanicum?
Great XLBS. One of my favorite things to watch when im home on leave from the navy.
at last the senior service,,,,,,,,,,Im an ex WAFU
Just flags with lloyds face on them in a meme expression all over the office saying lloyd approved
As for minis I’d have made a red coat IG force to go with the new AM relesased if going steampunk go all the way
Happy Sunday
Batman – another game on my far tooooo long list of “TT-Games I want to try in my lifetime” 🙂
Great show guys!
Happy Sunday!
I would just like to say @dignity, it’s all your fault…… I just invested in the WWX KS having said to myself I wasn’t going to buy any more until I’d cleared my to-do pile! 🙂
he made me do that as well…lol hence his comment last week about someone saying i hate you at the bootcamp…it was me!!
thanks guys for showing my room off . on the painting table was all quiet on the martian front . heresy space marines , tyrannid genestealers and imperial guard . also there was my flames of war great war british army . so you guys were right ! thanks again . more stuff is on my channel https://www.youtube.com/user/TheRendar/videos . thanks again great show !!!!!
Fun episode guy, cheers
What I would make? I’m making my own whole wargame full of custome miniatures cos nothing out there is exactly what I want to see : http://www.beastsofwar.com/groups/painting/forum/topic/primeval-abyssian-my-diy-sf-extra-dimensional-wargame/?topic_page=1&num=15
A lot of people have said it is “original” too. I’m not sure if it is myself as I’m just doing what I want.
Here, here. The second I heard DeadDave was making his own miniatures, I was like: “there are other BoW community members that have been doing this for a while and posting the results on the site” – along with a complete universe and rules set!
Folks should definitely check out the Primeval Abyssian forum in the Hobby & Painting Town Square forum (linked above) and see what @abstractalien has been up to, especially if you’re into “deep” sci-fi.
I have to say I *really* appreciate your support and kind words. It means a lot.
Happy Sunday, good show to Lloyd and Justin as gracious hosts, and to the rest; who’s that warren guy? He’s pretty good, you should give him more airtime 🙂
nomad infinity ones please Lloyd. I’m sure Corvus would approve 😉
Happy Sunday
I hope that the new Adeptus Mechanicus are not gonna be a new power codex
As for having a miniature made, I’m lucky enough to already have two of myself through Hasslefree Miniatures, One is Simon the Barman from their villagers range and the other is Sparr the inebriated goblin in a kilt 😀
I’m really excited about the Batman miniatures game. My son is obsessed with Batman and already likes playing with “Daddy’s toy soldiers”, so I’m hoping this game will help get him into the hobby as he gets older. 🙂
I’m with Justin, I love the idea of fielding myself (and my mates) in all kinds of miniature games. Us as survivors in Zombicide. Us as a team in Dreadball. Us as in investigators in Mansions of madness. Us as a a group of inept criminals in Batman. The possibilities are endless 😀
this has been bugging me for months now, what the hell is the white thing at the foot of the storm trooper?
The statue? It’s a Magic the Gathering statue IIRC 😀
Yes, the Adeptus Mechanicus look great. But I do see a bit of trouble for the gaming landscape as every 40K game in the near future will be about the “Mars Civil War”. 🙂
I haven’t created a completely new miniature, but I did experiment with creating some add-ons for scenery. I cast these in rubber latex. It might sound a weird choice of material, but it actually works quite well. It’s easy to cast, flexible and nearly indestructible once cured.
thanks for showing off my room guys its a bit tidier now after a slight alteration ( i turned the table 90 degrees). it only served to highlight i need more time chained to the desk as my to do pile is getting even bigger. i blame you guys (mainly justin) really because after wild west exodus week i pledged Bounty hunter with more goodies arriving soon in the shape of the latest season of zombicide. (i will do an unboxing of that one for anyone interested in seeing a kickstarter pledge delivered)
If anyone wants ideas on a man cave on the cheap drop me a line. i am not as organised as mattrendar above with youtube but getting into blogging instead so touch wood when thats up and running i can share content through that
Happy sunday
another great Fun with flags ep. Sorry I mean XLBS.
will be very interesting to see deaddaves mini from idea to master.
Happy Sunday, that terrain looks great does remind me of Jurassic Park but also Starship Troopers 🙂
Happy Sunday
I really enjoy all the terrain hobby talk!
I Am Batman
Interesting to see other member’s hobby spaces. I think I’m lucky with what I have, so shouldn’t be too jealous. One day I’ll manage to get the full hobby room though.
Happy sunday guys 🙂 First smile of the day, thanks for your effort 🙂
Happy Sunday, post for the pretty book 🙂
The new Mechanicus stuff looks awesome – it may be the release that draws me back into 40k after years away from it! May have to do some research on them, is there a codex coming? Or were the rules in White Dwarf or something?
Yeah, wouldn´t mind the Batman rulebok. The game looks visually stunning, and it would be much easier finding out if it´s also a great game with the rulebook 🙂
Another great BS weekender. Had to watch / listen twice. Well done BoW.
another great show guys keep up the great work
Happy Sunday… why so serious?
Happy Sunday!
For the whole banners thing, why not put up a photoshop template so people can just make their own?
Good show. The changing of hosts, etc is a bit distracting. Otherwise a good show.
Get show as always
adding to lloyd’s comment i believe there was an transfomer, Astrotrain that could transform into a tank, a train and could fly.
What about posters @lloyd? Scale posters to slap up on scenery?
Also excited about the admech…I see where my hobby allowance is going for the next few months.
Really enjoyed the weekender. Hope Ad Mech isn’t a small release and that there’s loads more to come for them.
Great job. Can’t wait to see how the “Build Your Own Mini” series turns out.
On the topic of making your own miniautures, folks should definitely check out the Primeval Abyssian forum in the Hobby & Painting Town Square forum (linked above) and see what @abstractalien has been up to, especially if you’re into “deep” sci-fi.
http://www.beastsofwar.com/groups/painting/forum/topic/primeval-abyssian-my-diy-sf-extra-dimensional-wargame
great show today guys
happy sunday =)
I like seeing what you guys have hobbied in the week especially if it’s your own projects rather than a BoW project (I appreciate that there’s probably a large amount of overlap there!).
I would love to see you guys do more for Batman – features, maybe a intro game and of course, put togehter a themed table. What would you do? Streets, abbandonned industrial complex? I think I’d create Penguin’s lair. 🙂
Happy sunday!
Great show guys, i like the idea about banners/flags, but i wanna use them for fantasy and warmachine 😉
Loyd if you want to link your banner for Dust i am in , i Love that game and hope they will solve the mess soon
Have a good one 🙂
happy sunday 😀 !
Happy Sunday guys! Great show once again, keep em coming
Happy Sunday
Happy sunday
Grand Beasts Designs!!
Another Sunday another great XLBS
Good show guys. The readers desks is making me jealous! I can only imagine that anyone with that much room doesn’t have kids…
Sweet hobby rooms. Mine is just one mdf rack and a kitchen worktop. 🙁
Nice hobby spaces in this xlbs.
Another great XLBS! keep up the good work guys.
Great xlbs as always
I have been watching your coverage for over a year now and have been one of those hobbyists who has stuck to one game system (40k). Thanks to you guys I’m now exploring other systems and liking what I find. Batman will be the first system I diversify into being a comic book collector since a child. Thanks for the education and your coverage guys.
Happy sunday guys Lovely episode as expected,
Joker Batman book
The banners are indeed a cool idea. 🙂
In fact, a couple of years ago I went self employed and one of the things I was going to do was offer my services for CUSTOM DESIGNED BANNERS, lol! I was going to include pdf battle standards and flags, as well as decals (decals proved to be too cost prohibitive for me) and flags to be used as objective markers (I hadn’t considered that people might want banners to adorn their terrain with, cool idea that).
After some research, I began to feel that it was really only 40K and WHFB that had armies that used battle standards in their games, I hadn’t thought about having banners to adorn terrain. I had wanted to make examples of banners to show the level of quality I could produce, and that I could offer templates at a cheaper price for people to personalise.
But progress on that stalled when things like looking after my dad when his health worsened, commissions to produce artwork for fellow youtubers came up, and the need to work on my current custom mini commission, all meant that my initial idea had fallen by the wayside. So in the end I decided to just look for illustration work and forget the banner stuff, as I felt that it would be too much of a niche business within a niche market for me to make a decent living from. I mean, how many people would be after custom banners?…
Now I’m wondering if that’s worth pursuing again, especially as @lloyd has suggested the same idea I’ve had, and that, at least at the time of writing, 15 people out out of 186 comments on here have expressed their interest in them. But now I’d also feel like I would be stealing the idea since it’s been made public (on backstage at least), so I wouldn’t want to suddenly suggest this “brand new service idea I have where I can make you a custom banner!” as if it was a completely original idea (even if I had advertised such a thing at the end of each of my custom archaic jetbike youtube videos).
Then again, the other question that came to mind when I decided to just pursue illustration work is: with all these companies like Little Big Men Studios making decals/banners http://www.littlebigmenstudios.com, Flags of War http://www.flagsofwar.co.uk, and Battleflag http://www.battle-flag.com, if there was a market for custom designed banners, surely they would’ve offered this service by now? I had googled such a thing and found this ebayer http://stores.ebay.co.uk/bannermansplace/Custom-Wargaming-Banners-/_i.html?_fsub=2 but not found much else, so I thought the answer was yes, they would have, which is why they haven’t.
If I offered that service, it would have to be part of a much larger range of things that I could offer to do, or something I could do on the side of (possible) illustration commissions, for a bit of extra cash. More side projects have cropped up though, such as the Help for Heroes Ultramarines army raffle, and a chance to exhibit my artwork, which I’m now preparing for, so I’ve not been looking for commissions just yet, so that could be a fun thing to do once all that is completed.
Although, seeing as this is now being offered as a freebie to us in Backstage, I would feel rotten for now going ahead and making this a paid service of mine.
I think I’m just too late and missed my chance really. And perhaps after all, it is better off being a freebie that BoW can offer from time to time, since creating them, especially templates for people to modify, requires a lot of thought and work in order to set them out as something that fits particular ranges. Making sure they’re in scale, having enough options for people to use, making sure typefaces are printable, setting the images at the right quality, making sure banners that need to be folded can be done so without a loss of quality, making sure they can be cut out easily, e.t.c, e.t.c; takes a lot of time, hence why I couldn’t offer that work for free. But seeing as @lloyd gets paid, I’m sure he could go to town with it. 😛
The new Mechannicum stuff looks amazing! The walkers look like they’ve stepped out of a John Blanche painting, as I’m sure they ultimately have in the design process.
As Christian said, they’re not meant to look Imperial, they’re meant to look like Mechanicum made machines; all cybernetic and strange. As their description reads, the walkers are designed to be able to navigate the terrain of Mars (as are the prosthetic lower legs of the Skitarii).
It’s great that GW have finally got round to creating them. I heavily suspect that their creation was also in order to compliment the FW Horus Heresy Mechanicum army, since there aren’t any Skitarii minis in that range yet, but there are rules for them. I’m looking forward to seeing what they bring out next. 🙂
10:30 Those are from the old Warzone range! They are actually really good and freaking cheap, i have ten bauhaus troops of those and i want to buy more!
Ok, i love the Adeptus Mechanicus… if i can mix them with my female imperial krieg i’m gonna get them.
57:00 That one also works great for Protectorate of Menoth!!! Well and many other games i’m sure.
Also… about flags : http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=flag
I’m all in for more Dust content especially since they just announced that there will be a new version of Dust Warfare which I enjoy way more than Dust Tactics/Battlefield.
Though I think it is a bit early to lunch a new Dust Tactics version already. I just got my 2.0 hardcover at christmas…..
When I first saw the fences i heard the Jurassic Park theme. God I love this movie. And when thinking about Jurassic Park I still get pissed, that my parents didn’t allow me to go to the cinema.
Happy Sunday!
Great show guys, loved the tower/walls & banners Lloyd try some greens/yellows on the concrete as over time the sun will bleach the grey lighter plus moss/lichen will start to grow on the surface, MARS is the Imperial, area 51, the Mc Donald’s skunk works, & Detroit all rolled into one they will probably have a smaller version on every forge world.
I like the banners, would definitely like to see a pdf of them.
Happy Sunday indeed. I was just working on adding more lighting to my hobby space this week. I’ll try to post some pics later.
8+ pages of comments ah crap. guess a few would like the Joker Edition rules,i’ve not got a set yet and your coverage already had me buying the Ltd Red Hood Joker from the secondary market.
Definitely a game I’ll be getting into.
Another great show!
Our home is our hobby workshop. I can’t tell if that’s good or bad. 🙂
Another great XLBS. Thanks guys.
Happy sunday! I so want that Batman rulebook, it looks great.
I can’t wait to see more batman on BOW
With a company like figure prints already existing (they take your WoW character and turn it into a statue for you) I wonder if it would be possible to pull an existing 3D model out of a game program and print it. I can envision people making 3D rendered figures that you can position and arm how you want them, then the program prints out your model (one piece or multiple pieces depending on the model) Imaging being able to customize your models with poses and equipment and gear before you even print it.
Happy Sunday! Loved the discussion about terrain & Skitarri.. dirty, dirty martians…
Great one again this week guys!
Dear BoW guys, please do a Wild West Exodus Boot Camp, kind regards Everyone.
I like he idea of making a mini me for bot action , happy Sunday.
sweet, still waiting for some batman miniatures to arrive, rulebook would be really bad ass to complete them!
I want that Batman book!
Great show, I really enjoy hearing about the stuff everyone is working on. Especially How excited Lloyd gets about his scenery and banners. Like the man said “I love it when a plan comes together.”
That Storm-trooper pointing at the screen is still creeping me out.
Flags!
I dont bother to desing my own miniature, im not good at drawing, but maybe ill try with sòlid snake and others from the saga..
Im better as creation process so ill get my rulesystem and then hire a studio to do the 3d work,
Happy Sunday!
The warming and skitari look awesome
Those adeptus mechanicus troopers do look nice. The walkers on the other hand… I like the details and the way they tried to make it look cool, but how cool can you make a guy on chicken legs look, really?
Happy sunday
Greeeeeeeyyyyy!!!
Came home after a concert, and sat down to watch the show. Saw Sabaton. Nice shirt, John:)
I would love me a hobby station like one of those.
Definitely have a bit of hobby space envy, nice work spaces gents
Happy Sunday!!
Sigh, what a cool job to have chaps.
Yep, trilogy watched. I want that book as I need to play as Baine!
Batman rule book looks very pretty.
Joker makes me SMMMMILLEE!
Great show, love the enthusiasm about the new GW stuff even though I left the game a long time ago.
Happy Sunday
More Batman coverage please……..you can never have too much!
@lloyd lol! Yes! They do look like crappy trophies.
If ya gonna put it on a black plinth at least make it a catwalk, why not?
Post the PDF for Dust banner, preferably for both Axis, Allied and SSU if you made them 😀
Why wouldn’t a guard tower have a walk around it? And wouldn’t a SSU tower be Russian green?
Lloyd needs to make the bearded Grey version of Justin (lol funny, good job and SUPER creepy) from the Weekender for the Watchers in WWX.
Great show guys. Loved the hobby spaces. The nice thing about seeing other hobby spaces is that sometimes you can learn a new way of doing something that you’ve never considered before.
Is it just me, or has something seemed very… weird with how GW do their cloaks in plastic now?
Something just seems off with them on the harlequins and skitarii.
I dig the banner Lloyd.
Great XLBS guys, from my side great to see you covering the Ad Mech stuff and good to see you all enthused about 40K :).
Played a game of BMG this afternoon. My Joker crew against my buddy’s Bane crew. Joker for the Win!
I like that concept art from deaddave, better than most of the stuff I see these days!
JOKERRRRRRRRRRRRR!
*dribble, drule, manic laughter followed by uncomfortable staring contest with your pet fish……….
Hi Lloyd ……….
Why so serious? 😀
Lloyd I liked the idea behind the SSU banner, great work on it by the way.
Happy Monday 😉
I’m Batman!
come on ya good thing, want some Batman goodness
Good stuff guys!
I want to wiiiiiiiin <3
@lloyd Nice to see someone so into concrete, it did look good though.
I want to have my face on a mini…… On second thought maybe not a good idea.
Great show as usual
I took a look at the Mechanical stuff on He’s sure today and I have to agree with Warren and Christian. They are some of the best 40K stuff to have come out in a long time. The little vestigial limbs on the walker are awesome. Anyone for a Mechanical T-Rex?
Lloyd, why the devil aren’t you on the DUST Tactics and Warfare facebook page mate, you are clearly passionate about it, it’s an awesome game, that’s only getting better.
Thought Lloyds hobby section was the best bit 🙂 i am hoping to get my Dust stuff going eventually once the KS sorts itself out so def +1 for any banners or other stuff you can put up for downloads regarding the Dust factions to get my scenery ready. Given the BOW relationship with Corvus would be great if you guys could get approval for doing some banners/posters etc associated with the Infnity factions and world (pretty please!)
Fantastic episode, I loved Lloyds section on concrete and “dustifing” the lookout tower.
You are not allowed to talk about dune, if you dont read the book. And the movie is not so bad:

It inspired me for a big project:
Batman
Cracking show guys, that tower is from Micro Art Studio, I’ve got one waiting to be painted up. Love the barricades, I’ve got a set of the Warmill street wars stuff in the attic, also awaiting painting ….. I’m starting to recognise a theme here …
Great show again guys. It looks as though dead daves series will be very interesting to follow. Naturally most people will want to make something that they are interested in doing an expensive project like this. I expect that Justin s “German officer mini me” will e the first of many. e.g. Carnivalle guild boss, Infinity biker boss, 40k terminator captain, ZTV survivor leader (7tv zombie game) the possibilities are endless.
Happy Monday
Great to see the enthusiasm for Adeptus Mechanicus. Its been a REALLY long time coming. Between this and Harlequins its getting my interest in 40k back, as I think this is a great way to go. They are starting to actually make the most of all the back story and give people whats been asked for, for soooo long.
Happy belated Sunday
The Joker cover looks cooler than the Batman cover I bought.
If Lloyd could design his own model, would it be a concrrtd Roman waving flags?
SO WHAT’S WRONG WITH GREY APART FROM IT JUST BEING GREY?
Adeptus Mechanicus – Oh yeah!!!!!!!! I am totally in!!!!!!!
Lloyd’s obsession with terrain is appearing to be on par with John’s obsession with tanks.
Better late than never, happy Sunday!
@dignity you are totally right, A.I. is banned, the emperor decreed it.
Lloyd
Internet lesson 1… Don’t Feed the TROLLS!
(Never tell a Troll that they have got to you, That’s just what there after!)
I wish I had space for a proper hobby room, but alas I have to use the same space as my computer is located.
Well now there is a warhammer unit that I would like to play. Maybe this will be my gurn of everyother week.
Man, I really need to clean up my place to make some room where I can do hobby work.
Batman rule book!! – Redraw!
I would like to win tha book.
Happy Sunday on a Tuesday!
Mechanicum Skitarii look spot on in my book – just right. The other stuff so far like tanks and mechs really haven’t grabbed me, but the Skitarii are great!
@lloyd I love your enthusiasm for scenery! I used to be the same when I had the time and space. Now my hobby space is on a portable painting table, a toolbox and a plastic drawer for paint.
@deaddave awesome work so far, I’m into it.
For others wanting an alternative, make sure to check out any Mierce kickstarter. They have offered a similar service – get yourself in miniature form. It’s pricey, but you could potentially have some of the best artists and sculptors design you as your own ancestor for their alternative Earth, and you get 10 copies of yourself included in production.
Always enjoy watching this
Love the show!
i want a hobby space ;_; I move y keyboard to paint, have painted minis in the ikea expedit bookcase next to the desk, and a stack of boxes full of plastic/metal/resin paint queue stored in spare spaces all over the house
Those adeptus mechanicus rules are sounding like they will be seriously over powered. will this be a new round of Rules Creep?
cant wait to see a batman board on hobby lab.
its a trap!
Would love a Joker rulebook!
Ordered the standard Batman rulebook right at the time the euro reached near parity to the dollar by sheer coincidence. Great show guys.
My best Pal would Love a copy of that book…
Happy tuesday :S got to it a bit late this week lol
Mechanicum…. a banner would fit this walker ;]
Does the winner of the book get it signed by the BoW crew
The book looks really good.
Great show, looking forward seeing some banners for Warzone! 😉
Great work as always guys 🙂
Ive been waiting ages for GW to do a mechanicum army. Might even get me back into 40k.
Batman……yes please!
The new 40k army looks good so fare hope it keeps going
Oh and what horselord66 said about you guys signing the book would also be awesome
Thanks, gents.
Yay Batman 🙂
Happy Sunday!
Back in the Rouge Trader days, I remember having some imperial robots that looked vaguely like preying mantises. They had pages of rules for programming their AI (was it in the yellow compilation book or the red one?), and when you set them loose, they followed that programming slavishly.
Another cracking XLBS!!
Time to look at this Mechanicum malarkey in earnest methinks!
Nice to see some work around hobby spaces. 🙂
Happy Su….. I mean Thursday… ¬_¬
Great show guys, though I wish I was into dust and concrete as much as Lloyd!
Can’t wait for the Batman demo game.
Great show guys.
We are building batman terrain as this plays! This game looks OUTSTANDING!
That Joker cover is nice!
fluff wise, the dragons are the equivalent, rules wise…………………….no
also, loydd – maybe get some axis banners?
Someone’s probably said this already but algae and lichen grows on galvanized steel at the slightest presence of a rough surface texture.
Also probably said earlier: The mechanicus walker is a straight up John Blanche.
