I meet up with Dave from Hawk Wargames to find out about the last lap of kickstarter and what's in the future for Dropfleet Commander.
That modular space station thing Hawk designed is astounding! Then again – all their stuff is.
Go Hawk! Great company. Love Dropzone and very excited to get my Dropfleet Kickstarter models.
I wasn’t able to back the Dropfleet kickstarter, but I still really want it sometime!
Will the alternative sculpt Neptune be available at Games Expo, I wonder…?
Should be, Hawk take their show models anywhere they have a stall set up.

Dropfleet – really glad to be a backer as I look at the unceasing wonders that Dave has unleashed upon us – the space stations are even better than my wildest hopes had striven for and the Shaltari battleship looks positively terrifying. Roll on June/July whenever!

Dropzone has been a game on my radar for a while now, just never got round to starting up…sure love the look of the universe thou and the dropfleet minis are simply stunning can’t say any more than that… Modular space station you say?? Hmm there’s many a battle fought round space stations that I’d love to game out on the tabletop… The defence of Babylon 5 from earthfleet for one and the dominion wars from DS9….

Dave your models and enthusiasm for your games is amazing. Being a grad student money’s a little tight but either Dropzone Commander or Dropfleet will probably be the next game I add to my collection. I’m excited to get a demo of both of them at Origins in Columbus Ohio this June. Keep up the amazing work.

Every time I see that massive ship I want to grab Dave by the shoulders and say “You crazy bastard, you actually did it!”
It’s such an incredible feat, and the perfect eye-catching promo piece for drop fleet. My only question is.. how long before Dave decides to do a space station that the ship can be docked to!
My group put quite some money into the Kickstarter. Hawk’s a wonderful company, and I’m happy to see that everything’s going fine with the Kickstarter completion.

I love dropzone commander’s models, always getting cooler and cooler with each expansion. Dropfleet is looking amazing, can’t wait until it ships out(or i get to pick it up as gencon in August, maybe? Please??).
Good to see the Dropfleet models that will be heading my way fairly soon. These are much bigger than I thought, so will need to work harder to smuggle then into the house without the wife noticing!

love this universe.
My son was desperately impressed with the miniatures and the giant display piece. Enjoyed the interviews that Hawk have sat in the past on Beasts of War. The mechanics look cool and there appears to be a ton of energy from the company to push the product and develop more of the range all the time.
The optional PHR drop ship looks really cool. Can’t wait for Dropfleet Commander to arrive. They game is looking very awesome. Hope to see some more of it at Gen Con (USA)! Thanks for the updates on Hawkwargames.
Dropzone has quickly become one of my favourite games, and something tells me that Dropfleet will soon follow the same path.

Wow that space station set is huge. Between the size and the fact half the scenarios will use space stations I am glad I ordered one. For Dropzone, I can’t decide if I want to buy several of the Aegaeon and replace my Neptune fleet. Or buy one, and make that a command or VIP transport. That single large turbine in the middle is really cool. Plus, civilian vehicles – finally!

I just wish there was someone to play Dropfleet Commander with around where i live.
Really nice to see the DFC ships in the flesh, ultra hyped I backed the Kickstarter and having seen the ships up close I can honestly say I like the aesthetic of every faction, during the KS I’d kind of decided to just run UCM and Scourge, but the PHR and Shaltari look much better in the flesh than in the pictures for me.
Those are a lot bigger than I thought they would be… I wonder what the 2-up Kickstarter exclusive will look like… Glad to hear it’s all on track and schedule though. Great work Hawk, you guys are really passionate about what you do, and it shows.
