I have a couple of questions for the BOW guys at the Boot Camp
1. What is the points cost of the starter armies?
2. This might be for John I’m about to start to prime my US Army I was going to do them in a grey primer but just gotten US army green. what colour would he suggest to prime them in?
I can certainly answer numero uno – the size of armies comes to around 700pts

If you get time please try and film a battle report. It was your demo game that got me into Bolt Action in the first place.

I absolutely love bolt action, its just a nice easy game to get into and one you never have to wait for the opponents whole turn to be over.

a nit pick about the Para’s at Pegasus Bridge, they were glider-borne troops of the Ox and Buck light infantry (as an ex member if the RGJ the regiment that the Ox and Buck were amalgamated into) our (the RGJ) battle honours include Pegasus Bridge, and we take joy in reminding that paras of that fact.

May not be there but I’m joining in painting my Germans and Americans… Methinks Panther and Panzer IVs will be getting some love on the morrow!
I hope this gives me a better understanding of the game. Granted I am most likely going to play the Germans for the simple fact that I have so many GW Steel Legion models and they have cool tanks.

Your FOW FTW videos inspired me to get into FOW and now this has inspired me to get involved in Bolt Action. Bought my first Bolt Action box at Salute and going to head down to my FLGS to get in my first game tomorrow. Keep up the good work!

I’m just getting into Bolt Action, I already bought the rulebook and now I’m thinking about what armies I’ll do (I’m planning on making two small armies to start demoing the game), probably I’ll go The Pacific with Japanese against Americans so I’ll have the TV series to support me. Hope this works… Any advice will be very helpfull! 🙂

Bolt Action is such a great game. The dice pulling mechanic just makes the game so tense and awesome. I hope they expand out more into the Pacific theater a bit more, but that is just what I like.

Curious if the Japanese infantry are better than British or American Airborne in Bolt Action?
Since the game is showing armies fighting each other that never historically have done, then I am just curious to see how the games play out this weekend. Glad Beast of War are going all out in doing these weekend events. I think they are just great for the hobby.

I have to say you found a fantastic way to make very nice tables with a limited amount of resources. Beast of war for scenery is unbeatable !

How were the starter sets chosen?
20 inf, 1 medium tank and 2 teams seems to be the norm. Were there limits?
Genuinely interested generally but it helps that we’re getting into running escalation leagues at my club but haven’t been able to figure out a good/easy way to start off bolt action (despite loving the game).
