Our Final Thoughts

The chaps sit down for a spot of tea and talk about their game. It ended up as an Ash & Oak Club win but there might have been a few moments where it could have gone either way.

Give us your own thoughts in the comments below and tell us what you might have done differently and where we could go next with this story.

have a good game

redben

I’m quite partial to the rules of Wolsung. They make for an interesting game with lots of options and choices to make. Couldn’t get it on the table often enough, sadly.

pojoh

Good ol’ Spiggot Ale. Need more of this, great batrep, awesome terrain.

chaingun

Great battle report guys, this is why I joined BOW. Wolsung is a nice looking game from excellent looking miniatures and terrain to fun rules to play it. I look forward to more Wolsung coverage.

blackspiral

Fun BatRep guys! Love to see games like this.

redyeti

Absolutely loved this guys. Such a cinematic game! The golem definitely needed to activate more though! I was dying to see it smash through the door of the distillery and rampage off into the countryside!

It’s a crying shame that I have neither the time/money/acquaintances to get into this game haha

poentje

Looks like you had a real fun day. Love to see more battle reports.

mulletsteve

nice bat rep guys. loved watching your game

doomzombie

Loved it, liked how the card`s worked. As of yet still not sure on which faction to go for, but i will get there one day. Can`t wait for the next installment………………

zorg

looked a fun game just love the table guys.

uberqfunk

I thoroughly enjoyed this and would love to see more in the future. I would think that the trail of purloined distillate might lead to the sea side depot where it is waiting to be stowed.

The use of a traditional card deck is an interesting addition to the game and others like Malifaux. Though dice are still used in Wolsung, the extra part of the cards is unique spin and they don’t even need to be official products. Real bang for the buck as these cards can be used for these games and basic card games if needs be.

uberqfunk

As for a mash-up I could see the 60’s Batman and Robin making an appearance.

jonhay

Really enjoyed this game, guys- hope you do more!

brand

That was a lot of fun to watch. I’d like to see what you guys could do with Strange Aeons or This is Not a Test.

furios

Thanks for this battle report.
I really enjoy watching it.

Very didactic example of the game.
Please do more report with this high quality.

jonhay

I second brand- give This is Not a Test a go; I think you’ll get a real kick out of it!

ghent99

Great report and how much fun does Wolsung look! Also, I don’t know if it is new or I have missed it in the past but I love the play all feature! This is great so I can just let the computer go while I am doing other work or something. Only complaint, and it is minor, is that the play all feature doesn’t work on my Kindle Fire as the app is not recognized. The videos still play in the one shot articles so that is fine.

bucketknight

Yet another great report. Keep these coming and I’ll keep watching. Doesn’t matter what game it is.

The board looks very thematic. I like how you have given each scenery piece a function. And the scenario was hilarious. Too bad the golem didn’t get more action. I think lowering the activation to a 3+ once awake is a good adjustment.

And Justin was visibly having way too much fun trying to beat up Warren. Is colleague rivalry the new thing?

bucketknight

The game looks wonderful too. Unfortunately it’s just one game too many for me at this time. Can’t collect and play them all.

angelicdespot

Finally got to watch this awesome game – thanks guys! The format seemed to work really well too. Lots of little videos can be hard and anoying to watch, but having a ‘play all’ function meant that it was much easier to follow.

Please do more Wolsung!

angelicdespot

Also, I think Justin was using how own Scylla miniatures – which look fantastic. Whose were the Ash and Oak Club? Were they by Justin too? And the Golem? They all looked really nice, and the table was great too.

As for what happens next and @dignity…

I could see the Triads moving in on the Scylla’s turf, sensing weakness and an opportunity to muscle in on their territory.

I could see the Inventors going after the Golem to try to capture it / research and repurpose it. That could be an Inventors vs. Golem game, or an Inventors vs. someone with a 3rd party / AI-controlled Golem in it too.

Alternatively, if you wanted another Scylla vs. Ash & Oak Club game, you could simply have a reprisal, with the Scylla going into Ash & Oak territory and picking on a weak target / causing carnage / demonstrating their power.

king

Great game guys, when’s the next one 😉

grimunforgiven

id love to see a scylla vs ash and oak rematch where the scylla go to get revenge. the objective is to set fire to the ash and oak manor house in multiple spots during a fancy party where they were drinking all the illegal booze. (maybe followed by the loose crazed golem trying to recover his stolen booze) not too familiar with wolsung to know if thats in the realm but should be fun.
