Just because the model would be in the box, doesn’t mean that the rest of the audience couldn’t be given a months notice about what model they would want to buy if they want to join in.  it could be used for other community involvement things as well.  I like the idea of adapting the Legacy element too.  You open your Subscription/thank you box and along with a few cool toys is a small black box or two which say not to open until we are told, which would contain something like this painting competition model, or a small single swig bottle of cheap plonk for drinking during the annual awards.  Then one of the “rewards” is suspense.
