Welcome Aboard. I really like what you have already painted! I love building and painting these little supers. I’ve only played a few times but like the game play. Some really good resources out there;
First off, AMG ( https://www.atomicmassgames.com/mcp/ ) has just about all their character cards, and tactics cards as well as rules and tournament scenarios downloadable on their site.
Second, Jarvis-Protocol ( https://www.jarvis-protocol.com/ ) as it has every rule and card updated as well as a gallery of people’s paint jobs. Great tools for list building and just checking out which character that might fill that hole in your strategy.
I suggest the podcast Fury’s Finest as they are all about the love of the comics/movies/game and not just playing to win.
Still having the comic collector’s mentality I’m all about getting deals on things and rarely paying retail (when I do it’s at my FLGS) so I love game flea markets, garage sales, boot sales, eBay, etc for picking up random collections and used terrain kits. I also save a lot of money in barter as I have a bunch of old stuff collected and will even paint for minis. You are correct that the core sets are both great deals and have everything you need to play.
