You’re right limburger . I tend to use ,for example , spare Churchill track as extra armor on a Sherman . As the tracks look different the size 1/48 vs 1/56 isn’t noticeable . I think 1/48 Panzer III-IV track might work if the tank has full side skirts and only the vertical runs front and rear are visible . You could then lay lengths of track horizontally , your eye wouldn’t notice the substitution ( I’ve done that years ago with 1/35 scale track on 1/32 Airfix tanks ) Might just have to bite the bullet and order some 1/48 track packs .
I have to disagree on wargaming minis not being true to scale though , the Rubicon line of kits is fantastic . Of course with parts count creeping over 100 pieces in some kits , maybe they don’t qualify as wargaming minis . But the detail is awesome and the ability to kit bash them is one of the main reasons I buy them .
