At the moment I am thinking of using Warmaster’s basing system with 40x20mm bases. 2 of those will make a 40mm square for any games that want that. I think this will give me the best versatility for different games. I will put characters on 15mm or 25mm rounds depending on what fits best for the model or models I want to put on. And for the game, I am still leaning towards Midgard, but will be getting the Fantastic Battles book as well as I currently have no insight of how Fantastic Battles is (watching the OTT let’s play at the moment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MV3G7H6I1Qw). I really like the heroic character system they use in Midgard, it is very much like how stories and legends were told back in the day. That is for 10mm at least.
I am also still thinking of doing it in 28mm. It will get that heroicness across a bit more than 10mm, while 10mm will get the large battles across more. I also have a ton of scenery and models already for 28mm, making that a bit easier to get in to. The same goes for the friends I am going to play with, they have 28mm-ish stuff not 10mm stuff. In 28mm I am going to use the Kings of War single basing system, so infantry on 20mm squares and cav on 25x50mm. And then movement trays for the frontages of each game. I also have my fantasy army that I am already working on that will be a perfect secondary force next to the new Hellenistic one to introduce people to these games.
I am hoping to make a decision by the end of the week which scale I am going with in the end.
