Any sufficiently big community will attract toxic fans and those who want to play gatekeeper and claim you are having wrong fun.

That’s why you should find a way around those negative factors instead of obsessing about them.

Companies are going to do things that we won’t like.
They will also do things we do like.

If you dig deep enough there’s a problem with everything.

Let’s break that cycle and focus on the cool things that are out there and build on that.
This community has been a net positive since I’ve been here (and before I was there as well … I couldn’t possibly be blamed for that either 😉 ).

And as a reminder : you do not need to love every single thing that’s out there.
You don’t have to hate them for it either, because while it may not bring joy to you … there are folk out there for who it does spark joy (and vice verse of course).
