28mm Etruscans Kickstarter from Agema Miniatures

Agema Miniatures are launching a Kickstarter on 10th November for a new range of 28mm Etruscans.  They have posted a number of interesting articles on their Facebook page about the Etruscans who were the leading culture in Italy prior to the rise of the Romans.  The Etruscans played a significant part in the early wars of Rome up to the Second Punic War.  They also fought against the Celts, Greeks, Carthaginians and Italic tribes so make a novel opponent in any ancient wargame.  I’m looking to make a force for use in Saga: Age of Hannibal.

You can register your interest on Kickstarter prior to the launch and read the updates on their Facebook page.  New miniatures are sculpted by Stavros Zouliatis and the Kickstarter will also feature their resin and mdf Penteconter ship.

I’ve been looking forward to this for a while and wondered if anyone else here at OTT would be joining in?

I’ve been following it for the past couple of months waiting for it, I like the prisoner being beheaded 🙂

Now it’s finally arriving and I may not be able to back it, I’ll have to see as they’re perfect for CLASH

I totally agree, the execution of the Trojan prisoner’s vignette looks fantastic and just the sort of thing that Kickstarter is ideally suited to.  They would indeed be very good in Clash too.  I’m starting to wonder if I might crack and go for a whole Swordpoint mass battle force rather than the tidy skirmish force I have been looking forward to.  I’ve managed to keep away from Kickstarter for most of the year but this will definitely be the one to get me back in again.

I’ve been looking forward to this as well. I am building up a Carthaginian force and intending to use it for Mortal Gods and probably expanding to a To The Strongest army so Etruscans will fit in nicely with the Greeks that I already have

This Kickstarter has just funded.  For Clash of Spears and Mortal Gods players there are exemplar army lists and resources available – take a look in the updates.  The campaign is developing in some interesting directions with an Etruscan ship and crew available and a pack of Axemen being sculpted and added to the options by popular demand.

If they get to 100 Backers then we all get the chance to buy a cool diorama based on the Execution of the Trojan Prisoners which is a common scene found on Etruscan tomb frescos.  Images are available on the Kickstarter page.

There are stretch goals still to get and a free mini for every backer who pledges £55 or more when they get to £11,000.
