Another month down and I’m slowly working through the Draugr.  Here is the latest section:

    20250731_100003004_iOS

That’s 2 more Midgard bases done.  I’m 4/5 of the way through this army now.  With these guys going quickly and a couple of other bits getting finished I’m at 286/365.

September already.  Time flies!  Here’s the latest stuff to be completed, some Epic Celts:

Finished the Draugr and am enjoying the PaintComp we have going here.  With that and some other stuff I’m at 325/365.

I finished Cycle 5 of Aeon Trespass odyssey last weekend, which is my third solo campaign of the year, meaning I’ve achieved that goal.  Looking at my list I’ve been able to cross most of my pledges off as done, at least for now.  Some are rolling goals that can change as new stuff arrives (Where is my KDM delivery??)

    Final Fight

This is only one of two tables.  Its a big messy game.

I’m looking at the sheet and there’s a lot of orange on there, but not much green.  It’s apparently September already (Not sure how.  I’ve got men looking in to it) so time is running out, but there’s still opportunity to cross stuff off your lists.

You’ve got way more patience than me, I sold mine earlier this year.  I know it’s a great game but I got fed up of Poots’ antics and the total lack of any realistic plan to deliver what the KS promised.  I gave him 8 1/2 years so I think I did pretty well!  That was a couple of hundred minis off the pile though so not a total loss 😀

I have the added advantage of being late to the party.  I’m behind on playing through the content by a few years.  I’m only eager for the next delivery because I want it to be my next paint job.  I also have other big games arriving in the same timeframe and I can only play one huge campaign at a time.

November has rolled in.  How is everyone doing?  Does the run in to Christmas afford any hobby time?  Can you get some done in the holiday season whilst everyone else is flaked out in front of a screen?  Here’s something I finished recently:

    20251012_130725097_iOS

This puts me on 371/365 for the year.  I also recently passed 5,000 miniatures painted since I started keeping proper records in 2017.  I’m hoping to get some more stuff done soon, plenty of half finished things on the table at the moment 🙂

Almost done the year and my pile is larger, despite commission work.

At this angle, it really does look like if it fell on you, you’d be trapped.

    @lawnor you’re not wrong … 😂

How it it December already?!?  Still, the finishing line is in sight.  I’m starting my sprint for the line by getting busy with Speedpaint pens on some Romans.  Two cohorts of which have helped put me on a total of 474/365 this year so far.  I also did some Agincort English for SAGA AoC.  Here’s Henry V:

Just looked back at my pledges for 2025 and I failed all five of them.

I’ve started Carnevale painting… in December… so odds are slim I’m going to complete that.

Maybe I’ll try harder in 2026.

@pagan8th  I don’t set my annual objectives in stone.  I’m quite happy to swap focus and change projects as I go.  As long as I keep painting, playing or whatever it is I’m doing then its all good.  The point is to make sure I focus attention on my hobby and maximise the enjoyment I get with the time I’ve got available.

Life being rather chaotic and changing greatly at this time last year, I made no Hobby Pledges.  As I have spent the last six months moving and setting up a home, the hobby has been rather neglected.  I did succeed in painting more than I bought but that was really only because I’ve bought almost nothing hobby related in the last year.  With my studio set up now and the arrival of Mantic’s Warpath epic sized minis I can see 2026 being far more productive.

I’ve just gone over my pledges and I seem to have fallen quite short this year.  I’ve allowed myself to get distracted by other things after getting very close to finishing everything, and then more stuff arrived.  There’s still a little time for me to try and finish off one more Kingdom Death campaign over Christmas though.

For those who are interested, I have started the 2026 thread at the following link.  I hope to readjust my expectations and do better at my goals next year.  Come join me and lets try and stay motivated and get stuff done.

Hmmm, a lot of other stuff in 2025 happened that wasn’t hobby. And so I didn’t get very far. Probably time to give up on this year and start thinking about 2026 instead! C’est la vie
