The pledges for this year are:

1) Complete the Viking forces for my Dark Age project

2) Complete the Norman Forces for the Dark Age project

3) Complete 2 Divisions of Troops for the War of the Roses project

4) Complete the odds and sods I have left for the Carthaginian project

5) Complete 2 French Napoleonic Infantry units

6) reduce my “pile of potential” by painting more figures than I add 😂😂

1) Enjoy my retirement.
2) Check my forum posts so I don’t have to keep editing them for spelling and grammar.

I’ve joined in the past but been poor at keeping up with the sheet so part zero of my pledge is to be better at that bit! I am such a hobby butterfly that usually yearly goals change so here are a handful which I know I want to get to in the immediate future:

1. Paint a GW army – I am going to Warhammer World in May for work but as it will be the first (and who knows, last) time I’ll get to go, I really want to take advantage and go all in. Having a 40k army feels like it might be the easiest to get games with when I’m there but I’m not 100% sure.

2. Finish my goblins for Kings of War 4th edition.

3. Paint all of Malifaux Keyword Family

4. Next year is the 50th anniversary of New Hope and I’d like to run some special games for it. This year I’ll be working away on them but the main pledge is to paint up all the Star Wars minis I own (at different scales). My current total is: 160/375

5. Get my collection to 60% painted (through painting or reducing the collection). Current total: 29.1%

6. Paint Moonstone

7. Paint and play through Darkwater

8. take part in the community paint challenges

9. Paint up and play through Battletech Aces Scouring Sands

10. Run a game at a convention

Going to try to keep it simple.

1. Play more.
2. Paint more than I acquire this year.
3. Try to get rid of some figures and terrain to unclutter my brain and find some clarity and normality again.
4. Don’t succumb to starting any more terrain projects; I have enough on the go.

A bit late to the game but …

Trying to keep things simple this year and actually finish some projects.

Main focus is 8mm Dark Angels:

• Finish the 4th and 5th Companies
• Print and paint Deathwing
• Paint Ravenwing

Side projects:

• Build and paint Deadzone Enforcers
• Build and paint Deadzone Forge Fathers

Other goals:

• Play at least 4 games this year (any system counts)
• Paint two display-only minis in 32mm+ just for fun and to push myself a bit outside my usual tabletop standard

My playing games goal is deliberately small, given the hectic schedule I keep and trying to coordinate that with friends means even this many may prove a challenge, which makes me sad… but still!
If I end 2026 with more finished models that’s a win

One month down already!  How is everyone getting on with their pledges?

I’m off to a fun start.  I’ve been able to focus on hobby painting very well during January and got 114 models finished.  That is easily the most I’ve ever managed in a month.  This was helped by being very motivated to finish the Slaine Midgard 300 point army upgrades which added 75 to the total.  I also got the last of the Speedpaint Pen Roman legionaries done.  I finished that army today so there are ten done already toward February’s total.  I’m taking on some painting for a mate and he wants around 90 Saxon and Dark Age civilians doing.  Hopefully I can get those done this month so I can be ready to start the Spring Clean Challenge.  I’ve updated the spreadsheet and it tells me I’m already 31% of the way through my main annual goal.  114/365 Painted.

Amazing start @zoidpinhead Will you be doing your mate’s models with the paint pens too?

didn’t get a lot finished in January but did make good progress on a couple of my pledges. Hopefully February will have more completed models in it. I do need to start thinking about the Spring Clean Challenge 🤔

February is finished and my pledge update includes the completion of a small commission of Dark Age Saxons which were not painted in the Speedpaint pens (as @gorram already knows) but were done in a speedy way with mostly Speedpaint and some other quick techniques that I last used on my Draugr.

I started on the Death Korps but soon got distracted by wanting to finish some extra bases to complete a Polybian Roman army.  No project for them so here is a photo:

90 finished this month.  The running total for 2026 is 204/365.

New project for 2026… Marvel Crisis Protocol.

Need to finish painting some proxy miniatures I bought based to the set of update cards I picked up.

Then I want some appropriately sized bases that I might use for some wrong scale Heroclix I have lying about to increase the roster further.

Also waiting for X-Men Starter to be back in stock somewhere (Amazon.com reckons they will ship to UK for £7 with no import taxes but I’m not convinced of that).

And finally I might have accidentally bought some Battle Kiwi Battle Boards that will need assembling and painting.

So it’s quite a big project.

@pagan8th I bought some Battletech through Amazon.com with shipping to the UK and the shipping was legit. Pretty cheap and no import duties etc. Arrived quickly too.

Thanks for that info. I might look into it.

Out of curiosity I added it to shopping basket and moved to check out. By the time it had added postage and VAT the price had gone up considerably.
