@blinky465 sometimes life gets in the way of the hobby and that’s to be expected but keep up the great work.
October 15, 2022 at 12:28 am #1784285Yes, I know I’ve a team of elves to finish painting. And Jim and Bob need their table finishing. And the new cheerleaders are printing, so they’ll need painting too. And it’s really not a great idea to “butterfly” between projects because that way nothing ever gets done, done.
But I literally had 30 minutes to myself today. So I got the old rattle cans out and did some simple zenith priming on some minis I printed out a few years ago now, that have been hanging around on a shelf – when I’m back from holiday, my plan is to try sloppy-chop batch painting 4-5 minis at a time and finally get some cyberpunk minis ready for the tabletop (after @brennon wrote an article about a Neon Noir RPG I had it ordered before I’d got to the end of the piece!)

So it’s not much. But it’s still progress, right?

Slapped some more paint on the copter todayOctober 16, 2022 at 4:03 am #178443730 minute a day hobby challenge
Finished the Ork Copter and started a blue Jaguar warrior.
Not sure how I feel about the spots I might go back and outline the spots in black like a did on my other Jaguar warriors .

Pesky life has definitely gotten in the way. Doing a complete bathroom renovation in our house right now. Worst of it should be over now, so planning on painting minis tomorrow.
October 17, 2022 at 3:05 am #1784502@ grendelprime I see your doing some 1/1 scale terrain building ?
October 17, 2022 at 3:07 am #178450330 minute hobby challenge update
Tried my hand at painting the Blue Jaguar warrior I think if I paint another one I am going to use a lighter blue base and paint black around the medium blue dot. I am happy with the shield that looks nice . Don’t tell anyone but I stole that from a green Aztec warrior.

October 17, 2022 at 5:20 am #1784524@GrendelPrime @alfonsothetraitor That’s not 1:1 terrain building. It’s collecting building material for future miniature projects.
“You really need that much XPS foam?” “Yes?” XD
October 18, 2022 at 4:07 am #1784739New Blue Jaguar.
I think I am going to use this new blue Jaguar as my model for all future ones. I like the look of this one far more than the darker blue. The black outline of the blue spots are easily seen and give is a cleaner look. I am going to attempt a blue ink wash over the whole cloth tomorrow. I want to just dull the brightness a little.

wish me luckOctober 19, 2022 at 2:55 am #178495230 minute hobby challenge
As promised I used a blue ink wash to stain the model and I really like the results. I can still see the out black outline of the darker inner blue spot. I think I will use this as my template for future blue

October 20, 2022 at 8:34 am #1785106So, I’m back from the break and have a lot to catch up on. Some pictures of the gaming pieces for Solomon Kane’s first mission. Basically I’m looking at simply making the pieces more interesting for playing, and I’m not looking at them in the sense of wargaming models. So as I managed to pick up some contract paints, mostly that’s the approach I’m taking. I think I’ll spend more time on the Solomon model itself as he will be a constant piece in the game missions.

I will next be adding highlights and other touches. But the main colors are done.
October 20, 2022 at 1:33 pm #1785154@applemak looking good. Glad to see you someone else is getting back to painting again.
