My LRDG force shoooould be arriving at the Coleraine studio today.
Fingers crossed. 😀
September 13, 2018 at 8:48 pm #1266638Those guys survived in the desert … so a short trip by plane shouldn’t be a problem 😉
September 20, 2018 at 1:31 pm #1271244@oriskany did it make it?
September 20, 2018 at 3:07 pm #1271302@commodorerob – Yep. I heard from Sam they arrived two two days ago. Not sure if they sustained any damage, but no worries. Paints, brushes, and glue were sent with them, so they brought their own “medical supplies.” 😀 I’m more worried about the trucks – but if anything broke they will be easy to fix. Also – the campaign map is in that box, as well as materials for other games I’ll be running while there.
Is anyone else “pre-staging” logistics to support ongoing ops in the field? 😀
September 20, 2018 at 3:12 pm #1271303oh that’s a good idea bring a medical repair kit, I am brining my minis on the plane with me as a carry on:-)
September 20, 2018 at 11:04 pm #1271578Leave extra time at the airport for security, at least if they are metal minis. 😀
September 21, 2018 at 8:44 am #1271685I’ll be bringing everything by bus and train in my hobby go bag. Still figuring which and what paints to bring, basing materials, brushes, glues, weathering stuffs, soju, chocopies…. and so on 😉
wanted to do a DAK test mini but don’t have any German troops……. hmmmmm DAK sigmoron, DAK KD:M pinup perhaps…….. DAK Goliath ganger !!!????
September 21, 2018 at 4:02 pm #1271883See, now I want to see a Kingdom Death Pin-Up model in DAK uniform … or OUT of uniform might be more accurate. 😛
September 22, 2018 at 2:18 pm #1272361Okay, @brucelea and @damon – working on the counters for Panzer Leader (larger, deluxe “showcase” size, updated Desert Leader stats in most cases, larger maps, counters mounted on wooden tiles).
So I’m working on a general late 41-42 period here. Hope that’s okay.
No A13s, no Vickers Mark VIb, no Fireflies, no 17 lbrs … basically trying for a range that allows us to cover anything we want from Crusader through Alamein (in keeping with theme of Boot Camp).
If you’re interested in something else, let me know and I’ll see if I can whip something up in the last few days before we meet up. 😀
September 22, 2018 at 2:31 pm #1272373September 22, 2018 at 4:08 pm #1272427Cheers for all of your efforts on this, it sounds great as you have set it, can’t wait til Thursday now. Do you know where you are staying?
September 23, 2018 at 12:26 am #1272779Man, @damon – rarely in my life have I agreed with a statement so completely. Usually I start losing interest in a game the second someone mentions “points.” We are of one mind. 🙂
@brucelea – no worries at all. I’m a little behind schedule after producing that mini-video, but catching up. British are almost done. Germans are printed. I also printed a smaller force of 1941-42 Italians. British forces include “enhanced infantry” platoons in case someone wants to take a swing with New Zealanders, Australians, or elite British. 🙂
We are staying at The Grange B&B. Right next the Lodge and a block or two from Premiere.
