Paul Darrow ( aka Avon) passes away

Those of us of a certain age will remember the series Blakes 7.

Sadly one of the stars Paul Darrow  passed away today

I loved Blake’s 7. I really enjoyed what little I could get in the US on PBS stations, but I have very fond memories of it on my tiny black and white tv in my middle school-high school era bedroom. Blake’s 7, Doctor Who, Faulty Towers, and ‘Allo,’Allo. My parents thought I was so weird for enjoying the brit shows 😉

I remember Blake’s 7!

 

I too watched it on PBS and then later found it on VHS.  Now I have it on DVD as well.

 

I have to say my favorite episodes are the one’s later in the series where Paul lead the group.

I met the man at a local con here is the northeast, lovely man and he enjoyed his drink 🙂 along with Gareth Thomas (same con).

Paul also played Commander Vimes in the stage version of Guards, Guards

That is sad news, always liked Blakes 7 when I could see it as I had scouts on Monday when it was on and there was no such thing as OnDemand video or even video recorders then (at least not in my house). I managed to get most of it on later reruns.
