    Conspiracy time!

On February 24th 2026 Atomic Mass Games wrote this on facepage:

Tomorrow is the day! On February 25th at 9:00 AM PST, we are going live with a Special Studio Announcement to unveil the next chapter of Atomic Mass Games. Join us on Twitch and see what is coming next.

    641546597_1602486597942271_3178190935802753952_n

Yesterday (On February 25th) I got an email from Twitch at 5:55pm local which would have been spot on for the announcement.

“atomicmassgames is live: Join us for the STAR WARS: Legion roadmap for Ministravaganza 2025.”

Sadly I sat at the table having dinner with the family at that time and when I came back to my PC the stream was no longer running.

    And there is no VoD.

And there is ZERO Discussion anywhere.

So either the stream didn’t happen due to “technical difficulties” or was so underwhelming that no one cares.

But in all seriousness: has anybody heard or seen anything? @brennon did you catch anything? Was there even a stream?! AMG have taken their bloody time in the past to release a cut and cleaned version of streams to YouTube in the past but this silence is weird.

Their VoD don’t normally appear until next day for some reason

It was short, announced a new type of MCP game, using a Hex board and co-op play … fiest is night of the goblin.  Same scale, seems to be an entry product with easy build minis.  Trailer is on their youtube

I did see that trailer. That was all? Very disappointing.  :S

Yep, I think the whole thing was about 10 minutes with a few extra details.

It certainly was more tame than I expected, I though it might be a new game.

While I can see some aspects of it as a good starter project, not feeling it personally and spider foes is my main team followed by web warriors.  Also the Marvel boardgame space is pretty busy.

I did find the trailer on youtube and the whole spider thing is a bit ‘meh’ to me.

The teaser for Sentinels… that might interest me… especially if the box contains two Sentinels and not extortionately expensive.

I was introduced into comics by Excalibur with Captain Britain, Meggan, Kitty, Kurt and Rachel, go hooked on X-Men buying a lot of back issues and gave up on both when the art and/or writers went to crap.

Here’s the trailer for the rest of the club:

It was the Alliances Sentinels I was interested in.

Not read X-men in a long time and vaguely know about Cassandra Nova.

I used to have a spreadsheet of my comic collection, but not on this laptop, so can’t recall the last issue I bought, but I think it was the early 2000’s.

    new magement you say

    old product cancelled ?

    and new product announced ?

    what a coincidence …

I can’t help but feel the corporate tone and lack of soul in this thing.
You’d expect more marketing and not a quick&dirty twitch stream advertising the product.

Unless they’re waiting for adepticon to make it big ?
Is Adepticon really that important with 24/7 marketing options that internet has allowed ?
Do the new guys even understand the ip and division they’re leading ?
It feels like they’re treating it like cheap toys to be bought for kids (and their grandparents) for Christmas.

I wonder if they used ‘AI’ to do their marketing …

    Crabbok captured the stream.
Starts at +/- 29 minutes into the video as the first bit is about the press release:

New guy in charge ‘likes arcade’ … so his first move is of course to allocate as many resources as he has to make his product.
If he has to ‘sacrifice’ something from his predecessor then so be it.
And this … fits perfectly with what I said: new management, new games replace old ones from previous management because they need to mark their territory.

That’s not to say that a boardgame like that is a bad idea.
It just sucks that in order to make this they have to sacrifice an existing product.

Should have guessed that Crabbok was on it.

A 9 minute “reveal” of a board game.

To say I’m underwhelmed is really pushing it. oO

    yup …

I totally get the idea they want to sell with this new boardgame.
It potentially opens up a market for boardgamers who want to play … but then they already have boardgames that do exactly what they’re trying to copy (the ‘unmatched’ boardgame series).

Once again shareholders and new managers are killing games simply because greed demands non-existant eternal growth.

IMHO Shatterpoint had maxed out its player base. They might have gotten a bit bigger if there had been better marketing of the game as well as more interesting characters in the recent tv-series and movies, but not by a lot. The core game was simply too expensive for that (as I posted on Discord I’ve seen it listed for 180 Euro ffs). I always wonder why they couldn’t sell MCP and Shatterpoint as ‘box with tokens and rules’ + 2 squad boxes of your choice. Imagine how much lower the cost of entry would have been …

The core set at my F(n)LGS is 129,99€. But they have always been on the “more affordable side”.

What’s weird is: with the exception of one squad pack *everything* is in stock. base game, 50+ expansions and mission packs. Never seen that. Usually every game has more than one item “on backorder”

Welp. If I had 2.200€ to burn I’d just order one of each and be done XD

This is the Amazon Canada price, and virtually all the boxes have the three month zero interest deal.

I can’t seem to find the ones I really want at a single location.
Not sure if my wallet is going to like that though, but with the uncertain availability it will be a tough choice.

    @grantinvanman *ouch*

Or is this the effect of the tariffs in your region ?
I know the core set wasn’t exactly cheap before the clown circus started.
