In other news – since @sundancer has us sharing personal links now – last night’s Brighton and Hove Rock Jam was fantastic!

You know it’s a proper jam night, when you have to tell your hastily assembled band mates the chord sequence, midway through the song (just before the middle eight)

Not only had we not played together, but I don’t think the rest of the guys had even heard the song we were playing – it was a slightly “rocked-up” version of Bad Bad Leroy Brown

Not only is it a fantastic song to play, it’s great for the guitarists to show off their blues-y solo skills.
And if you search Leroy Brown on Youtube, you’ll find all kinds of artists covering it – from Dolly Parton to Vinnie Jones! (the accompanying cartoon with the Sonny and Cher version is just weird).

(even now I’ve no idea what song I was playing that has an F# minor in it….)

Next time we’ve all got to take our best Xmas tune to play with the others. It’s in two weeks time.
I’m trying to decide if I’ve got time to learn how to play saxophone and give it some Shakin’ Stevens and still have time to finish edge highlighting my space marine proxies. I’ve a horrible feeling one of them will end up getting dropped.
