@pagan8th Xmas chaos!?! Who spilled the bean about Giftmas!?! @sundancer Release the hounds! Unleash the kraken! Let loose the pool noodles of pain and agony!!!!!! 😆
Binge playing “Dredge” is definitely having an effect on me. Between that game, “Dorf Romantic” and “Placid Plastic Duck Simulator” I admit that my sleep schedule has been shot.
On a good note, I managed to find some 3D models that will be useful for future projects. As a belated Thanksgiving thinkg, I’m thankful for Black Friday deals.
November 29, 2024 at 3:38 pm #1905312@horati0nosebl0wer I was referring to my job… postal service goes insane at this time of year and that’s my job.
I made the mistake of going to the Modiphius website… Achtung Cthulhu was half price… I spent money.
Steamforged had Bardsung for £80 (normally £200), but I decided not to go insane on a plastic purchase that I may never paint, or use.
You feeling any better @sundancer?
November 29, 2024 at 3:56 pm #1905320It’s so strange that Canada has its thanksgiving a month before our neighbours. Ours is a quiet show, with no shopping carnage. And then we wait for the inevitable… Black Friday!
November 29, 2024 at 4:09 pm #1905327Someone really has to explain to me how a single friday can last for almost a month … is it because it’s black ? 😉

The pledgemanager for the mounted cowboys kickstarter for Deadmans’ hand opened up.
I’m getting curtains delivered on monday, so there’s a bit of 1:1 terrain DIY to do this weekend.
(someone really needs to explain why such things need more than a month of lead time before delivery. I get that it is ‘custom’, but it can’t be that tricky with modern machinery ?)Anyways …
oh and another American/German/British tradition starts on sunday as the mantic advent calendars are begging to be opened one day at a time. At least that’s the theory, not sure if anyone ever does it like that. I tend to open presents as and when I get them. Waiting for specific dates to open parts of them is silly.
November 29, 2024 at 4:20 pm #1905331Xmas is one of those times that excites kids and parents. The parents are excited to see the reaction of their children and kids have to wait which builds excitement…
However… we live in a world now where people want everything now and hate waiting. People binge watch shows that a decade ago you’d have to wait a week to find out what happens next…
And that seems to spill out into daily life… no one wants to wait for anything…
Which is a shame, because anticipation is good… it’s something to look forwards to… and in this world of war and global warming and deprivation we all need something to look forwards to.
Here endeth the rant…

Thanks for asking. Yes. Having a proper nights sleep helped. Also I bought some very tiny fighting metal minis XD
November 29, 2024 at 7:41 pm #1905364November 29, 2024 at 9:21 pm #1905365I’m always having trouble thinking of anything I’d want for Christmas. It doesn’t help that this hobby is rather obscure and most of the things I want I probably will buy myself anyways.
It’s even worse when I want to buy a gift for someone else. I need a list of things they’d want so I can have an idea as to what they’d really like as opposed to me buying something I like and hoping they like it too.
I know my sister has told me that I don’t need to bring presents for her kids when I visit, but I feel like I’m not being a good uncle to them when I don’t. Is that weird ? I’m not sure.
hmmm … sudden brain wave. I have both Spartan and Recon editions of the Halo game. And I think the original plan was to gift the Recon edition to them. I just don’t know if it’s something they’d like, but the system is fairly easy to grok so even I should be able to teach it to them.
(there I go again … distracted by yet another potential project I could start. But one with a deadline that I’m not sure is realistic.
I’m having to think real good and work real fast if I want to get it done before Christmas.)November 30, 2024 at 4:12 pm #1905412 -
