Well, then you’d need an authority, say, to monitor the time variance issues …
May 25, 2025 at 6:34 am #1930067May 25, 2025 at 7:01 am #1930068Yes yes weekend done now.. but I still got to the party
Pledge: Get more shit done and show it off. I will move to get more things modded with pins and greenstuff. The Seraphon Spring Clean has been good for me on this.
Working from home is never an option for my work. Get up before the ass crack of dawn and get out to do stuff, depending on the weather. It’s really has been a boon to my general health. I miss some things about office work but the end of ‘Office Space’ really hits home now. To those still in cubicle farms you are remembered and I hope you get your outside time.
@sundancer I did paint at work while I worked unarmed security for a while. Without supervision in a quiet building I fully understand the urge to hobby. Do what makes you happy on the company time as long as you can show work and get by with it.
Unstoppable? *snickers and patiently waits for The Next Big Thing to hit our dear friend and the ensuing “Oh God, What did I do?” moment*
@zoidpinhead It always astounded me that all 25 minute morning commute turned into an hour long one in the evenings. WTF? For your hobby time, I salute you.
@grantinvanman Retirement is a pipedream to the modern worker. Congratulations on getting one. You can now enjoy much banter with the likes of Warren on guitars and mini men.
@pagan8th Good to hear you survived being ostracized. From being forced to be alone you now voluntarily show you spend your time better alone. People can sometimes be overrated. Good show!
@danlee You need a hobby vacation, or a job of doing nothing but hobby to enjoy.
I ordered a Rakshasa Ravanar and will be doing Indians
Future me will also be doing a Slavic army, but I can laugh at myself in the present with гопник (Rus. gopnik) Adidas striped cowboys.
May 25, 2025 at 7:30 am #1930069@horati0nosebl0wer I literally won the worst and best lottery at the same time … I joined the army at 18, then served my government, and, at 47, was medically retired. It takes a fuck ton of garbage to get that. Trust me. What the hell does one do at my age with a pension? Some say it sounds dreamy; there are absolute downsides. I travelled in the beginning, then the VID hit. Now I’m getting back to where I want to be.
I’m genuinely happier now. Paint, ride, play guitar, travel – this is living!

May 25, 2025 at 8:27 am #1930074Licensing is weird.
There’s the stuff that’s happening where a game based on Masters of the Universe is only available in a specific region of the world. So there’s technically two versions of the same setting at the same time.
There’s “The Walking Dead” that had both the comic book license (Mantic) and the tv-series license games. I don’t know what happened to the latter, but it feels like the Mantic variant simply was the more popular variant.
It’s like … it’s making money for the license owners with practically zero effort .
Why the heck would they allow that to expire ?Competition can be healthy and gives us as consumers the chance to pick whatever makes us happier (maybe the models from game A look better and the gameplay of game B is more fun?).
@grantinvanman you don’t need a lot of power to pull the front wheel of the ground. It’s all about physics and you can even do it on a regular bicycle if you’re crazy enough (I’ve seen kids do it). I’ve never been that crazy though. I prefer to be sane and alive, although some folk seem to think that my trike is dangerous as I’m low to the ground.
Which reminds me … I still want to add my bike flag with a proper mount. There’s a few spots on my commute where I could do with the added visibility that it provides, because there’s hedges that are as tall as my trike.
And I must not forget to charge my battery as it’s no fun to pedal with zero power …Anyways … it’s sunday and I should be doing something with my war room. But the XLBS needs to be watched as well.

@horati0nosebl0wer like the two armies for Armoured Clash that have been shipped now and will arrive sometime next week? Or the additional grunts I “need” for Frostgrave to make it truly WYSIWYG? Such things never happen….
Little Big. I know they say “american cowboy” but the pronunciation makes it sound like “american kaputt” XD Also that dance is like the cybergoths of the olden days XD
@grantinvanman don’t do wheelies. The nuts might come of XD
Now, XLBS
May 25, 2025 at 5:34 pm #1930105Yeah the mini-wheelie was more of a surprise than intentional. I’ve seen videos of people with my engine on my frame do full vertical wheelies, the power is there, and yeah, physics makes it work for sure. I really don’t have any desire to have a 450lb bike come back on me. It would be a crushing feeling.

Pledge update: I’ve started. I’m toning down the rather garish paint job on these cav. to something more suitable. I got rid of the red, orange and pink (!) of the original and covered it up with Bonewhite as a base for white. I’ll then add the Touareg blue and fix the horse colours and call them done. Fortunately we haz extra weekend here as it is a holiday on Monday, woot!
May 26, 2025 at 5:36 am #1930173@zoidpinhead What’s wrong with pink? 😉
Monday indeed it is. Back to work!
May 26, 2025 at 8:45 am #1930209@sundancer Not pink specifically which is after all ‘Viking red’ but the previous painter had those three in a non-complementary alignment with three shades of green, yellow and blue. I’m all for a rainbow jamboree but perhaps not this time. I thought the rainbow theme looked good on my Theban Sacred Band though so I guess even with historical miniatures you can do whatever you like really.
May 26, 2025 at 1:23 pm #1930260As long as you don’t mind pea-counters calling you out on “the wrong shade of green” XD
Just received a parcel! Huzzah!
Unboxing incoming *g*
May 26, 2025 at 2:28 pm #1930273May 26, 2025 at 2:42 pm #1930285As if @sundancer can wait that long…
May 26, 2025 at 3:28 pm #1930291@grantinvanman Getting to do the things you want after being worked over hard seems like there’s some accountability. Its never quite equal to the cost.
@limburger Step one to kitting out the trike a flag. The next step is go down the rabbit hole of Southern California lowrider bike culture and fully outfit your ride with subwoofers and a pinstripe paint job. If you can be heard and the bass felt you have more warning before being seen.

A motorcycle but applicable

@sundancer The fusion of hardcore style techno and outlaw country music makes me both cringe and grin at the effort.
@zoidpinhead I think there are photos or color pics in a book devoted to African cloth armor that shows they were/arr rather garish. Tying the cave in more always keeps cohesion though so good on you for that.
@pagan8th Agreed. Parcels he receives are as good as already opened by the time cameras come up.
