The guys finally get to check out some of the sprues for the D-Day British miniature releases.
Chris from Battlefront Miniatures is in the studio and excited to show John some of the hard plastic sprues for the D-Day British releases. there are some lovely sculpts on the anti-air models but there's also a battle to see which is the cutest of the armoured vehicles between the Daimler and Dingo.
What do you think is the cutest vehicle of the second World War?

Some of the German kitties are very cute… who can resist a cuddly tiger?
But is it pink?!
Or, in your case: tartan?
a great funny video an some good models as well.
TRUCKS, we need TRUCKS in plastic. Although they are used to ferry around the infantry no self respecting FoW player would think about using (alas seem too many games that look more like a World of Tanks game than a WW2 re-enactment). But being able to buy the Trucks in plastic cheaply would be a great boon to FoW and any WW2 game.
Going back to the Daimler, it was probably one of the best armoured cars of WW2, well beloved by the crews it’s size and off road capability (along with a decent sized engine) made it one of the better designs (which is weird seeing as it was in the British army, well renowned for having probably the worst designed kit (other than Italian gear)).
The Dingo was basically a armoured jeep, I’ve heard it was a bit underpowered and a pig to drive offroad. Cute it may be it was usually used for things like ferrying around air or artillery observers than engaging in front line combat (although you could stand up in one like Michael Caine in a Bridge too Far and look cool). It also had a commander “seat” that could be attached to the upper rear hull that had a tendency to catapult the occupant over the front bumper if the driver hit the brakes too far 😀
Please, please oh please, game an 88 which is in the towing configuration.
Just built more Mid War crusaders and was fearful I’d never get more. Good to know I can essentially swap turrets as needed.
Thanks for the vid guys!
Some very nice kits, hmmmm, I wanna build a small British force now to go alongside my US Army.
