About the Project
...Because she's a death trap..... Edit, I have renamed the project and am editing the description because the originals are no longer really relevant. So this project started out because the very hot summer of 2018 would let me paint anything and most of my hobby stuff had to be packed away for a house move. Whats it become now? well the weathers cooled and the house move is done, but im enjoying building small shuttles... so welcome to the Od'Adlos ship yard!

A bit larger than I was imagining, this is where you realise that what youve been thinking of in your head is a whole lot bigger than you realised
here it is with a couple of 28mm figures for scaleBish bash, splish splosh....
So a fairly cool (but Oh so Early :( ) morning meant I was able to spray and start applying some paint to the Cicada Shuttle.. A very limited pallette so farA small history of this paticular craft…..
The JetBug(TM) class shuttle “Cicada” registration mark “RP-142” was an executive surface to orbital shuttle belonging to the Rolande Pilowsky Corporation for the personal use of Rolande himself. Despite being fairy new, it was disposed of by the corporation board after the shuttle was found in a decaying orbit, the chairman, advisors and crew were all found dead inside. Bearing marks of extreme violence but no sign of the attacker was found or of their entry or exit point.
Although sent for full material recycling, the disposal company quietly sold the craft on as she was still fairly new, after passing through various hands “Cicada” ended up in the hands of a trader captain of slighty dubious rep Calvin Swift, Captain of the “Tangerine Dream”…..

...wait I cant, this is where we came in :(So this little diversion has kept me occupied for the best part of a week while Im not sorting out a house move, school change for my little un etc etc etc.
She will get painted at some stage, hopefully before long and I’ll update this thread once thats done.
Sorry if theres a lack of detail around certain things, my only excuse is that I didnt really think it would work as well as it has. There lots wrong with her but I’ve learned loads about scratch building in cardboard and to think geometry wasnt my favourite subject at school 😀
I hope whats here is of some use to you even if its just as inspiration. Shout if you want me to explain anything in a little more detail..

Full frontal depravity! having decided to call her the "Cicada" shes almost complete, the turbines are pounland superglue lids cut down (30 of the things, glad I kept all of the ones I have over the years/ months :S)Up Up and away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Directional thrust engines in place and detailed, lesson here do the detailing before you glue the engines in place, its far easier, these are the 2nd set for that reason.
A view from above, the green on the tail is milliput, I used it to give a smoother surface to the "wing" the main wings would also get this treatment.Super hero Landing!! nope not really....
So the undercarriage is built and inplace
