About the Project
Since the release of the RPG in the 90's I have been a real SLA fan boy and when I discovered the miniatures for the CS1 miniatures game I went all in. I have played quite a few beta games with a friend and it is a lovely smart little skirmish game. Unfortunately it seemed to die a death after the Kickstarter (No politics or judgements of what went on in this post please.) Consequently I very sadly packed my stuff away. Now that the game has been rescued and is being packed and shipped as we speak by Word Forge Games and Nightfall. I have got my models out to complete in preperation of the new stuff arising.

Carrien pt2
Over last two nights I have added basecoats to the fleshy areas Army Painter Burnt Red, and the skulls and claws Army Painter Iraqui Sand.Tommorrow I return home and can continue painting in better conditions, next up will be all the various rags and strapping plus little details like googles. Then wash and highlights. Will take a while as working weekend, off Monday then on a course for two days and following weekend a family gathering.
Carrien pt1
As I said earlier I am staying at Mums this week as she has had first of a new course of treatment today and I want to make sure she is ok.
I have bought with me my Carrien as I hoped they would be relatively easy along with a mini paint kit.
Carrien with a drybrush of Army Painter Mahogany Brown. This is a limited version of my rusty metal dry brush technique, as the Carrien have quite a bit of metal equipment and armour I thought it would be the best way to start.
With a drybrush of GW Bolt Gun Metal. Next I will be basecoating the flesh a deep red brown and the skulls and claws bone colour. Followed by the various rags then it will be a wash of either GW Agrax Earthshade or Army Painter Strong Tone and finally highlights.Scatter Terrain finished
I started some scatter terrain (I have loads more) and I have now finished this firsy batch. I have assembled various bits of terrain from rubble/cover/barricades to little storytelling pieces like the fridge.
These are photographed with only building I have do far (next piece of scenery to be painted). I am awaitimg aload of Mantic buildings from the CS1 Kickstarter which is arriving this week.
All the rubble together. After the drybrushing i picked out small areas of colour, some washes of colour on the detrius between the main pieces. The larger pieces of machinery have all had their colours of paint bloched on with initially a dark shade and then highlighted up with two lighter shades. They were tjen given a wash of Strong Tone followed when dry by a drybrush of bleached bone.
Avery poor picture of the camera drone includes a Third Eye Decal from a set of decals I commisioned from Company B. You will see a lot more of these when I come to finishing touches on the Shivers.
A crate with mysterious contents and a damaged TV, really pleased with how the screen came out ( these are two seperate pices of terrain, I have and am building a collection of individual items to personalise areas of terrain)
The Fridge with what looks to be some unsavoury contents.... the fridge magnet is a Wierd Alien (I should say all these company names and logos are taken from the background of the SLA rpg book)
ArghhhhhhhhI am away for a few days from tomorroe so I have got a small paint set for painting the Carrion faction as they are a limited pallete and good for batch painting not many intrucate details.

Sorry for lack of updates and thank you for the Golden Button.
At beginning of last week my painting lights bulb started flickering so I could not continue painting figures I ordered a bulb and mistakenly got sent No More Nails (be useful for building scenery later) I am now waiting for the newly sent bulb to arrive.
And in a neat segue, as I did not want to drop the project for a week or so I have been painting and building scatter terrain.
Sorry for the quality of the pictures I will take some more photos when the bulb arrives.
Some resin scenery ex pardulon now available from Crooked Dice. Ihttp://www.crooked-dice.co.uk/wp/product/junk-piles/ have under coated them black and drybrushed them in rust shades
The sequence of paints I used for my rust drybrush, this was followed by a wash of Strong Tone
Some more scenery including a cannibals fridge, a broken TV, a sofa all by TTCombat,https://ttcombat.com/collections/city-scenics and a camera drone (there are rules for using a camera drone) built from GW bits, may add another camera but that will be after SALUTE as I have shopping lists for both Crooked Dice and TTCombat.

My Shivers
When playtesting I invariably played Shivers so this is the first faction I will paint.
The basic Shiver squad, I have made a medstation and the guy drinking tea and on laptop is my current medic until the new figure arrives. The vehicles are primarily for scenery/cover.
The Elite Shiver Squad and Sergeant Rooker. The black undercoated guy next to Delia is another Operativè called Joe Fade whom I used very effectively in last game I played (sometime ago now) hence his jumping the paint que.
A couple of odd figures to give me a break from the endleess Green if needed. Left to Right: Shine the Ebon, Big Momma the Cannibal Matriach (I have in nind a cool bit of scenery for Cannibals) and last but by know means least, Halloween Jack notorious serial killer/ urban legend/media sensation. Getting started again.
This is Delia the Destroyer, an Operative in this game. I have had her painted for some time and sadly she was the only completed model.
Having got out all my Shivers (see next post) to paint, I decided to paint the Manchine model as I thought this would be a great quick easy way to double my model count.
