Repainted

So I redid the whole thing added new texture wall paper. Painted the top and a little overhang on the sides in a sand color (used cheap wall paint). Shade it in a homemade shade (wood stain + distilled water + little dish soap (fairy liquid)). Then drybrush with a 1:1 white to the base-color.

The sides/brick I did in a dark grey as base-color. Used the shade as described above. Drybush with the base-color again. Second drybrush with a 1:1 white to the base-color.

Border I did in black.

And now I am happy about the result.

Because it looked so bad I decided to redo the whole top. Primed it black again and did the stone work dark grey homemade texture paint.

Up to painting

Then it was time to paint. I used some shading and different pigments. And by the time it was finished it still looks like sh*t.

I primed it black and add some wall paper on the mdf to create texture. (I saw this on XLBS, very nice idea) Next smoothing out the corners with milliput. I also created a cobble stone path int he milliput with a texture roll.

And it really looks…well it really looks like sh*it on the moment. But I thought by myself it all will look good when painted (I thought…)

How I will build up a tile - the foundation

The idea is to make a block on the tile where the building will be stand on. In this way you will be having a different heights to play on. The river, the ground level, in the building and on the roof of the buildings. So you can literately push your enemy in the river.

The made the blocks about 4,5 cm high (the board is 18 mm thick, so the total height  is 6,3 cm). The bricks are made in plaster in some old mold from a brick play set. On the end i stick a small wooden stick to hold the mdf platform.

Starting with a plan

The plan is to make it modular. So I am working with different tiles so I can switch the city in every game. The tiles are 20 cm x 20 cm I will contain the building. Occasionally there will run a river true the tiles. Those rivers will connect with the long small tiles what also will be rivers.

I started with 4 tiles and 3 lose rivers.
