Guards, Guards, Guards

Its been a while since the last update but I have been making good progress, everything is pretty much finished now apart from the shoulder decal and I am on the hunt for something I like as it didn’t want them to all be cadian’s and that seemed the only option on the decal sheet they came with

I’ve also painted some scenery from kill team following John’s excellent vlog as I would like to try some photos from them in amongst the scenery once they are complete.
I also couldn’t resist the new shinney any longer and added these:

I had a bit of setback with these while painting the guardsmen, my brassy brass dropper bottle got blocked and I squeezed a bit hard and sprayed the paint over everything on the table including these tanks.

However I took this an excuse to repaint them I felt that the camo strips had almost faded to nothing once the wash was applied.

The guardsmen are nearly done now, just started on the command squad. I was going to add some wasteland tuffs to the bases, however I haven’t used the tuffs before should I spray some varnish on before or after adding the tuffs, or doesn’t it matter?

Nearly there with emperors finest, just some tiding up to be done and then on to some basing.

All the infantry are built and base coated, time to put the weekender on and paint some minis

Trying to keep the weekend momentum going, got stuck into building some more troopers.

Really enjoyed the weekend, looking forward to the next one.

Finally finished for the day and I have got the whole getting started box assembled and painted. Very pleased with that and enjoyed the whole weekend specially seeing what everyone else has been up to.

I’ve also managed to get the two more Leman Russ’s painted except for the colour panels on the front this weekend although I had assembled them prior to this weekend, just 29 more troopers, 2 heavy weapons teams, a command team and 2 commissars to go!

Got the commissar finished last night, and spent the morning working on the tanks.

Got all the base colours down, washed it and dry brushed the whole thing and started on the metallic.

I’ve also started the bases for the troops pictures in a bit.

The troopers are finally finished, I would have posted earlier but I sliced my thumb quite badly while taking the mortar off its base. Just the commissar and the tank left plus bases for them all
