About the Project

First crack at a OTT project ^-^ In v3 I had 800 points of the big 4(German,US, British and soviets) for late war . With the newish V4 book I decided to upgrade my forces! So here are my project to update it to a full 100 points in Version 4 of our beloved rules. it is quite a big jump point wise as 100 points is the equivalent of 1500 points in V3 and earlier if I am correct.

Hello Everyone!

Quite pleased with the pigment work and airbrush work of the day.

So, this morning I applied The usual Mig Europe Dust and Black soot on the Panther and then  varnished it with the airbrush you see in the back, for that I used the suction cup as I didn’t want to use a big pot like the one on the airbrush in the picture.

Then I used the pot to mix some Vallejo Brown Violet 887 with some Vallejo Airbrush thinner and a few drops of Airflow improved by Vallejo also. Added some water in the mix, but next time I think I’ll try only with some airbrush thinner.

Took me a while but 7 of them (2 in resine and plastic and 5 in plastic) are base coated.

And as always here is the picture!

But I ain’t done just yet. This little airbrush really did stun me, it works real well and for the hour or so that I airbrushed the base coat I had 0 problems of clogging and didn’t even have to preemptively clean the needle.

Also in the picture bellow you can see how effective the suction cup is, you nearly loose nothing at all. Also in the paint pot it does suck out all the paint out, where I was  afraid of it leaving a bit at the bottom.

So yes I will use my old model as soon as I get them again, but for large areas or project…. I will go back to this one, plus unlike the one from Friday it is double action which is nice to blow air on the paint to make it dry.

D’day!

Despite the title today’s advences were light, the shermans got some stowage glued on this morning before I left for a nice ski session, then they got undercoated black and prehighlighted white.

The panthers Did get a drybrush of Mig 902 Dunkelbelb base, and a spunging of Vallejo German Grey 995. the tracks did get a light drybush of GW Leadblecher and the metalic part such as the tools did get some bit of it too in thin lines.

Here is the picture.

onwards!

Tomorrow shall see some airbrushing for the varnish but also for the base color of those Yanks, god so many Yankees piling up on the workbench.

Good Day everyone!

So tonight I’ve finished to put together the last remaining of the 2 shermans I have to do to complete the 1st company of US sherman tanks.

They were also undercoated black and zenithed with white, both of those with GW Rattlecans (not the best result as it was dark) but this will do.

The Panthers got some matt varnish on, but my usual airbrush kinda died after the first coat on the first 2 turrets. the air wasn’t being pushed outside instead my mix cup started bubling, I tried a bit more and t hen gave up. Using another one that I got which is a single action suction airbrush.

The experience was interesting and would be more suited for larger pieces and terrain I would say, as you need to spray at higher pressure and further away.

But I babled long enough, here is the picture!

you can also see the dead gravity fed airbrush lying there 😛

I’m not too fussed about it as with shipping it’s worth about 25 euros. Also realised tonight that my compressor is 5 years old and is still going strong, touching wood.

Yes I was playing with the layout tonight and testing stuff too

Good evening!

Tonight I did a 50/50 mix of Vallejo black shade 201 and water and pinwash on t he panthers. simple but takes a bit of time.

Then I started to put together my  remaining 2 plastic and resine US Shermans. I used rapid gluing Araldite after  washing them with a toothbrush and some regular soap, clean it and let it dry before starting the gluing.

Tomorrow will be more gluing, and some matt varnish!

Here is a quick picture.

Hello dear followers,

Tonight was an easy night due to having an assembly with a local association.

So I just did a layer of gloss varnish to keep the decals night and tightly sealed and also help them blend in. Vallejo Rattle can is the way to go for this.

Having a tiny bit more time I also fished the US Tank company I have previously painted and all that I already assembled in order to see what is missing and if I am ok (don’t really want to do any mystake as I did on the Brits and one on the german cupola that I had to close and correct the paint).

Here is a quick picture of the painting
