About the Project
So I have had a large chunk of my Rohan Army built yet un painted for the last 5 years. 1. I had 1/2 painted my Royal Guard 3 years ago so that became my initial focus over he last two weeks. Failed to take a pic early on but will include where they are now as they only need basing. 2. Felt pretty good with getting the Royal Guard done so I jumped on my Erkenbrands Red Shields next. They are now all painted except for the wash which I’ll do after I mount them. 3. Erkenbrand is next. 4. Followed by 9 Rohan foot Militia.

Erkenbrand Update
Just need some finishing touches like wetbrush horseplume white over the grey a wash and some highlights. Probably stick with Agrax earthshade for Most of him.
Once he is done ill wash his redshields too then show you my basing techniques. Simple but effective i think.
Rohan Militia
Next up after Erkenbrand!
Different colors represent my different Rohan CAV squadrons. I had already completed 12 blue squadron CAV and 12 Green Squadron CAV units. This will give me some dismounts.
As you can see I’ve started basecoating my guys is grey now instead of black, helps keep my colors brighter.
Erkenbrand’s Red Shields
Two in bottom left are simple conversions with axe swapped for sword and an arm repositioned with a gripping beast axe. Also used an old fantasy GW high Elf banner to create a Rohan banner that I will put a decal on. Not sure yet which one.
Rohan Royal Guard
So you can see the exemplar already based. Only did one conversion here by drilling holes to allow me to put a spear in his shield hand. The these models come with spear or sword option. Royal Guard are my favorite LOTR GW sculpt.
