M3 Half-track
This is the M3 Half-track that came in the Island Assault box.
Really nice model but it would have been nice if it came with some extra crew members/passengers. But that’s something I could potentially add in the future!
Finished Terrain Pieces
So this is how my scatter terrain turned out! I’m super pleased with how they turned out.
The Geek Gaming Scenics base ready mix did most of the work.
These were so easy and I was able to compete them in a day. I will definitely be making some more!
(The larger concrete bunker piece is still a WIP).
Scratch Built Terrain
With this weekend being completely free for me, I’ve decided to try my hand at scratch building some scatter terrain themed in the Pacific, taking Peleliu as my main inspiration.
I’m planning on making a centre piece with a concrete bunker, a log bunker on a 60mm base and then some smaller scatter pieces on 40mm and 30mm bases.
Here’s some photos of my first builds below.
I’ve used mdf bases, Geek Gaming compound mix for the earth formations and cocktail sticks ect for the logs. The concrete bunker is a plastic airfix one that I have had for YEARS!
Japanese 47mm
This is my Japanese anti-tank gun, a Type 1 47mm.
Although not a huge calibre, these could be deadly against US armour. As they were relatively lightweight and manoeuvrable, the Japanese crews were able to roll their guns in and out of hiding places such as caves, take a shot and then disappear again!
NAMBU!
I haven’t updated this projected in a while. So to remedy that, here is my MMG team for the Japanese…
Japanese Mortar Team
A few pics to update the project!
I recently finished this Japanese medium mortar team.
“CORPSMAN!”
Here’s a couple of pics of my marine medic, or corpsman, and his stretcher bearer.
Note that there are no visible markings to denote him as a medic, as allegedly Japanese snipers would target medics like they would an officer. So marine corpsman quickly learned to throw away or cover their red crosses…
Marine Scouts
This is my US marine sniper team.
For the sniper I wanted to use a different pose than the classic aiming down scope.
The spotter would also make a good forward observer.
