More yellow boys

The standard marines and the deadnought are ebay finds which already got the yellow applied which saved me much time as Im not eager to paint these base troops.

They did not came out as pretty as the Terminators but they are just some backup troops.

First Imperial Fist Terminator unit done

Actually this is my secont unit of terminators but the first in yellow, I did some Retributors last year which will fight alongside them.

The yellow didnt came out that bright and vibrant but that only makes Lysander stand out a bit more.

Once the new assault terminators are available I propably will do a proper bodyguard unit for Lysander with hammers.

Captain Lysander

Since Im recently playing more Warhammer 40k I thought about increasing my small Space Marines army. Because painting them grey is no much fun and I like the new Lysander model I will do the rest of them in yellow to eventually get to a 1000pts force.

Captain Lysander

Painting this guy was pretty straightforward yellow was done via airbrush (brown-white-yellow) and the rest with brush. The silly little screen on his shield got a space invaders theme, sadly this is nigh invisible now.

The next unit are 5 more Terminators to give him a squad to lead until I get my hands on assault terminators.

deployment of the bretonniansdeployment of the bretonnians

Having found treasure in form of wyrdstone shards the bretonnian warband of questing knight Llywelyn ap Gruffudd crossed paths with an undead group of creatures lead by a vampire. For the glory of the lady of the lake and with the quest in mind to purge the land of one more of these dark creatures Llywelyn ordered his men to advance and attack.

Turn 1: Turn one saw both warbands adwancing towards ech other. One bowmen killed a ghoule thanks to his good ballistic skill and hunting arrows.

Turn 2 and 3: Close combat unfolds as a ghoul and a ghoul hero charged the questing knight without any serious result on both sides, just the ghoul going down. On the other side combat was more intense, a zombie killed one of the squires and the vampire challenged one of the knight errants.

As the close combat going on without proper results all chivalric rules was swept aside and one of the henchmen tried to step the vampire in the back. The bowmen concentrated their fire on the necromancer but despite hitting him they failed to wound.

On the other side the squire of the Lord gave the ghoul on the ground the coupe de grace while the knight still was unable to take out the enemy hero.

Turn 4:  While the zombies slowly getting nearer followed by the necromancer the situation getting desperate for the bretonnians. Ser Gruffydd ap Rhys got knocked to the ground by some dark sorcery luckily however ser Hywel Coetmor finally landed the fatal blow against the vampire bringing the creature of the night down while only one men at arms fell to the zombies.

At turn 5 the undead retreated from the battlefield leaving the bretonnians victorious.

Aftermath: With the vampire and 1 hero down aswell as 2 dead ghouls and 1 dead zombies the undead didnt eard much money however they stumbled upon 2 prisoners which promptly got promoted to zombies. The vambire just got a leg injury letting him miss the next game while the ghoul hero got sold for a nice ransome back to the undead after capture throu some bretonnian henchmen.

The bretonnians winning the game got much more money through various wyrdstone shards and the ransome which means that the lord finally achieved buying himself a warhorse. The squire does not got a serious injury while the dead henchmen got replaced quiet quickly.

All in all a pretty fun game but leaving the undead in a really bad spot for the next game without the most important character.

Mordheim - Beastmen warband

I started a second warband for Mordheim, beastman. Im using the plastic gor frame for the bestigor heroes and standard gors. The chieftain is an older sculpt (finecast but quality was ok)

The mighty minotaur is from zealot miniatures.

I tried to tie them together using ocre and added names to all current heroes.

They faired very well in our current campaign so far. I only have to paint up the centigor.

Bretonnian Mordheim warband

Initially I wanted to do some barons war stuff but its hard to find any players around here. A friend of mine however wanted to get back on Mordheim so I thought I just use the barons war stuff as Bretonnians with the bonus that I have to paint less minis.

I decidet to go with the welsh as they got lots of lovely metal minis wich does not look too fancy. Some of the knights wearing just simple helmets and gambesons instead of mail armour which makes good squires for the warband. The bowmen all have some kind of coats mostly slung around the shoulders which mixed with some patterns makes them stand out from the standard bowmen a bit.

To make the indentification of the models for my opponent easier and keep with the historical theme I decidet to go with Llywelyn ap Gruffudd (I never will speak that name out loud) as my questing knight, he has a nice mini and quiet fancy heraldry which still was possible to freehand.

All the squires then got shields in the same red/ yellow quartered heraldry but without the lions, they would have been household knights historically. The knights errant then each got their own heraldry to make them stand out from the leader but not too fancy.

To keep them all together everybody got some bit of red (except for the bowmen with the cape were I forgot my concept)

They already have fought two games and next up are the last 2 henchmen to bring the warband to its maximum numbers. If Im lucky enough to get the warlord a horse I will paint his mounted version too.

I got back to trench crusade recently but decidet to use the official prints rather then to convert everything. This way I got into the sultanate and away from my trench pilgrims.

The alchemiceal creatures are the main reason why I chose them.

A few more of the regular Infantery to do and the first 700 ducats for a starter force is done.
