All You Base Are Drybushed For Us
The OneThing strategy keeps me going today when I'm feeling kinda crap. It was just going to be drybrushing the bases in Skeleton Bone, but I came back later and did the Arid Earth and blackened the rims. Also did a little speedpainting on the ferrox wolf-fox dogs. The plan for these is to have different ears and sock colors for useful separation on the battlefield; black, grey, white and red. The near fellow will be the red, but letting the grey dry first.Dogs, Down
All right, best I can do. I added a Jungle Green drybrush to the skin, and a white dry brush to the claws. Also a brown drybrush to the ground seems to help the contrast between base and mini. Done, varnish and drill magnets into the bottom. Also added a light white drawbrush to the orange and an orange drybrush to the white on the skink primitives. Need to work on those bases tomorrow.Build and Tone
A little assembly tonight, putting a Texico MERCS cowboy on a base, and assembled my two serv-bots, one for a repairbot, the other because I have a friend at Gearbox with a birthday coming up. (Though I feel this is legally distinct one wheeled bot, not CL4P-TP.) Also, layer of military shader green on the dogs. We'll see how it looks tomorrow.Slight progress on Warp Hounds
Gonna be a couple of rough weeks at work, as someone quit, and I have to cover that position and my own until a replacement is hired. Ah well. The warp hounds are going to need a wash of some sort, but I need to do some clean up on the basecoat before I worry about it. Base is done, at least, and I do like the Dark Sky with the green speedpaint. Anyway, they’re definitely in my focus, at least, so slow progress.
Green doggos
Mostly just that basing project I mentioned, but I did get some primer on the green stuff that I put on my runners on my dino crew.
Next bestiary work was the warp hounds, though. Put a layer of green speedpaints on them, and it does look weird. I think I’ll use some dark night on them and they should look very strange, which is what I’m going for.
