About the Project

So like everyone I'm getting into Trench Crusade because it looks awesome. I went for Trench Pilgrims Primarily because of their pointy hats that reminded me of Torquemada the foe (I nearly said Nemesis) of Nemesis in 2000ad. I also liked the walking big ben. I normally use zenithil highlights then contrast as my go to painting method but I thought I'd go totally Grimdark for this and paint properly and even use true Metalics shock horror. Have recently done a load of Gaslands stuff I was no stranger to rust effects so went overboard with that. As a basic approach I: -Based black -sponged on warpaints fresh rust -sponged on game colour orange fire -randomly added Vallejo rust pigment with a brush -sponged on GW leadbelcher -edge highlighted tactically with leadbelcher. This gave me a Grimdark base for my metallics. I then chose model colour Russian uniform green and GW Celesta grey fur the two cloth colours, inked then blended up. Bronze bits I did all gw: screaming bell, scyrox bronze, purple wash, leadbelcher Skin I based with rakarth flesh and reikland flesh wash then blended up from rakarth flesh to scale 75 pair skin. I added details then did a black/brown oil wash and cleaned up. Looking forward to playing, now to do some scenery....
