About the Project

In about 2015 I got into Warmachine Mk2 and over the next few years bought armies for Cygnar, Circle and Cryx with a number of Mercenaries. Cygnar and Circle were mostly painted with about half of Cryx and Mercs done. When Mk3 came out I bought the cards and rules and continued to play roughly every six weeks... and then covid happened. Skip ahead to 2025 and the armies are still languishing in their KR Multicases. In the last few years I've got some speedpaints, contrast paints plus an airbrush... and I'd like to think my painting skills have improved a little. So the plan is to complete painting all the armies and touch up the already painted ones to make them look better. I have zero expectation of completing this during the Springclean challenge, but I find that creating a project helps motivate me into doing stuff. The endgame is to fight a battle with a friend using one army and me using another... Mk3 rules though. No plans to upgrade to Mk4 as too much has changed.

First on my list is the Circle Orboros army from Hordes.

Everything is so dull and dreary. A couple of miniatures need repair too.

The bases are gold for the Warlocks and Solos. Unit leaders have gold weapons to make it easier to identify them in battle.

There are a few mercenary units in the case, but I’ll deal with them once I’ve painted the bulk of the army.

Seeing them all on the table made me realise how daunting this project is…

Edit: I may have been looking on ebay at some used Circle minis to add to my collection…
