So, how to turn a pile of minis into an army!

Now, it must be stated that in the OPR Army forge, there is a supported list for the Raygun Raptors range, currently listed as unbalanced, so I am not being awkward for the sake of it, I am ignoring that option for the time being as I doubt it will be ready in time (not that I am helping it in anyway!).

So what next – my first thought was Human Defence League so I came up with the attached:

With a 1500 limit I am limited to 7 units which is a little low for a cheap horde army.

My thought was use vehicles to eat up a lot of points and flood what was left with chaps.

I would field a unit of Snipers, however the limited unit number meant that I had to combine squads to maximise points and keep within the limit, so they are present but lurking within the Veteran squad – although I now need to locate the illusive 4th Sniper model I had been tinkering with as a paint sample.

I Blame the Weekender!

I think it was Oct 2022 where I watched a weekender showing the Raygun Raptors by Treadhead Rad. As it was leading to my birthday and Black Friday deals were infecting the internet I was able to grab a bunch of the little Dino dudes at a slight discount.

I ended up with c20 “rifle” saurs, 4 special weapons chaps. 2 heavy weapons teams, 4 snipers, 1 squad of Storm raptors, 1 squad of what they can rangers and full command – (all 8 scuplts).

I picked up a team of jump pack dinos late last year as I was tinkering with an idea for Mantic’s Deadzone.

I also added one of the Wolverine Tanks Mantic have repackaged from Archon(?), an Imperial guard Sentinel, and just recently one of the Genestealer Cult Achilles truck things following some early playing aroud with the army list builder brought me up a little short…

Hopefully this should give me a few options… which I’ll explore next!
