About the Project
Ive long had desire to play Kings Of War. I dabbled years ago but then Conquest came along and i got distracted. Now i find i cant face building another large rank and flank army so Kings of Wars Champions poses an interesting option. Im going to dive in with the premise that everything is painted as quickly as possible. It’s a bank holiday weekend and the Northern Alliance box has arrived, let’s see how quickly I can get these done, shortcuts and Brainmatter Beige all the way!

And the last model of the nine companies, its Axel!
And with a little basing on Axel the ninth company are done!

Another company finished, this one courtesy of @anderssen are the halflings. Years ago he backed a campaign by Westfalia to create halflings, now finally he has a use to proxy them into Tarans company and get them on the table!
And now for faction number 9, the final one of the series, it’s Axel Tricklebrook!

Let’s start with the Riverguard!

- After @brennon reminded me that Krautcover existed I decided to have a little fun with the basing for these. I dug out an old pot of their booty basing mix and added to the bases. It does have incidental pieces in there like starfish, crabs etc so i picked them out with a dab of speedpaint and applied some dirty down to blend it all together. I also ripped the green bit of a kitchen sponge to use as seaweed. Bit basic but honestly I’d gone a bit of reservation by this point!
Unit one done!
Now for some Naiad fun!
There was a BM Biege step before the wash! And the based!
And finally it’s the Queen B herself, Arokamorra!!!
A little base work and some gloss varnish on the spear tip and she’s ready to ‘sic em’! With Snapper!
Another force ready to roll!!!
Yep I’ve gone Champions mad and decided to get yet another faction, this time it’s some hulking great Ogres!
Stomping onto the field, it’s Arokamorra!
Again, as the two infantry units are similar I’ll paint them at the same time.
Behold the power of the Beige!
Now for Garomakaks wheels! I should note that originally I used and orange speedpaint but it seems to have lots of specks in it. Might be a bad bottle so i went over it with a Fanatic paint instead.
To try and blend the two colours I drybrushed the join between the two after the beige layer with lava orange and monster brown!
After assembly and throwing in the driver I added to a tarted up base and he’s done!
And finally, in all his clanking glory, it’s Grunk himself!
After a quick douse in 1/1 strong tone / wash medium and some base prep and that’s another one done!
Now for some Green engineering, it’s Grunks Grinder!
I should say the first colour was Dark Wood Speedpaint.
