Pea-dot camo winter Rangers
And here are the five new Rangers, with their avatar, in a pea-dot style winter camo. Shot against my newly primed and ready for real paint Necromunda tiles in Olive Drab…
“Just five more Rangers…”
Client came back from Japan and wants five more Rangers. Sold him a box from my personal stash, they’re built and primed now. Have to have them done by Friday for a weekend tourney for him.
Stay tuned!
The last two models!
Winged Autarch and a Farseer. All done!
Shining Spears
Approaching the end of this final batch of miniatures. Three Shining Spears – honestly, I didn’t enjoy painting these. They were primed white, the only unit in the army to be so. I used a mix of AK White with AK metallic medium for the whites. The shading was done with GW Contrast Apothecary White (which is actually a very good white shade, being just dark enough grey to do the job). Hits of blue and yellow to tie into the Iyanden theme.
Windriders of Iyanden
Six Windriders – basically, Guardians on jetbikes. Kept with the blue/yellow scheme, went with the biggest nose decal that would fit. Bases were masked off for the flight stand, they’re all magnetized as well.
Striking Scorpions
Finished the Scorpions. Technically, these are also a Kill Team, but divide into two teams of five with an Exarch each, but only one aspect token. Pretty happy with the end result, they took paint nicely.
GW missed re-doing their Phoenix Lord, Karandras, for this edition. I have the original metal one, and he’s … puny compared to the new Phoenix Lords.
WIP Striking Scorpions
Ten Striking Scorpions – five done barring snow and tufts (plus decals).
– Vallejo Desert Sand primer, airbrushed with my SATA 4B
– overall block washes with GW Contrasts:
1. main green, Ork Flesh
2. blacks, Black Templar
3. yellows, Iyanden Yellow
Overcoat, AK Lizard Green, highlighted with Frog Green
AK Golden Yellow for lines etc
AK grey-blue for black highlights
Gem on Exarch AK Dirty Red, Red, then mixed with a bit of yellow.
Simple!
Autarch on foot “Asurwoman”
Brief for this was to make her “like Asurmen”. Think I brought it in as requested. Client provided a 3D printed base, and wanted “less snow/tuft, more base” to be highlighted. Again, happy with the result. Decals on the banner, little bit of NMM turquoise on the spear – Asurwoman!
