Absolute chaos!
So I literally took a Chaos Army to our next two games. 750 points.
Chaos Space Marines (1999) – chaos 1 – [750 pts]
# ++ 1-Standard Missions ++ [750 pts]
## HQ [61 pts]
Mighty Champion [61 pts]: Chaos Undivided, Bolt Pistol [1 pts], Power Weapon [15 pts]
## Elites [404 pts]
Khorne Berzerkers [186 pts]:
• 1x Aspiring Champion [66 pts]: Mark of Khorne [5 pts], Axe of Khorne [20 pts], Krak Grenades [2 pts], Bolt Pistol [1 pts]
• 6x Berzerker [20 pts]
Noise Marine Terminators [218 pts]: 3x Combi-bolter, Combi-flamer [2 pts], Combi-meltagun [3 pts], Chainfist [8 pts], 4x Power Weapon
• 5x Chaos Terminator [41 pts]
## Troops [285 pts]
Chaos Space Marines [167 pts]: Plasma Gun [6 pts]
• 1x Aspiring Champion [56 pts]: Bolt Pistol [1 pts], Power Fist [25 pts]
• 7x Chaos Space Marine [15 pts]
Chaos Space Marines [118 pts]: Autocannon [10 pts], Flamer [3 pts]
• 7x Chaos Space Marine [15 pts]
And my friend choose Dark Eldar.
And the dice decided that we needed much blood for the blood god. Seriously usually I am the one with bad dice rolls but this time. Oh man. I hit, I wound, no save. He hits a few, wounds even less, I save all. The only time when the dice favoured him was with moral. Even with a moral check against 5 (on 2D6 mind you!) he throws snake eyes and 3 poor sods remain standing to be shot to pulp the next round. I almost felt bad. XD
What should I take next? Space Marines are still on the table or a different Chaos Army or even back to Orcs.
Also: here is a picture of “before the carnage”
Indomitus Marines
“What about the Indomitus Marines?” I hear you scream? Well the first set, including modified bikes, where build on THH.
The rest I build offline but on camera. Enjoy!
Space Marines.
Continuing with my inventory: Da Spaz Mariiinz!
Built
20 Space Marines (+2 painted on shelf)
1 Imperial Pilot
9 Space Wolves
1 Space Marine Bike
1 Landspeeder
3 Primaris Space Marines (also on shelf)
unbuilt:
Indomitus Box
1 Primaris Captain
1 Primaris Lieutenant
1 Primaris Chaplain
1 Judicar
3 Bladeguard Veterans
1 Bladeguard Ancient
3 Eradicators
10 Assault Intercessors
3 Primaris Outriders
Aggressor Box
3 Primaris Aggressors
Total Chaos!
So somewhere way back when I got some chaos. I don’t know why, where, when but here they are:
1 Champion
5 Terminators
16 Plague Marines
14 Khorne Berserkers
15 Chaos Space Marines
One moar game!
We’re back to normal boys!
My dice have decided to behave more like Ork dice again. Meaning: from 24+ dice shooting only a small portion hit and even less wound.
Also the only weapon capable of wounding the Chaos Dreadnought got knocked out in turn 3 and subsequentially the Dreadnought ran around slaughtering units.
On the plus side: rules start to get a bit easier. Though some question still pop up that we couldn’t find a rule for in the core rulebook.
- What happens when a fast vehicle (wartrukk) needs to go through enemy infantry. Can it go through? It can’t do tank shock. Does it need to go around enemy infantry?
Well, we stopped without having reached any result but it was more or less inevitable that he would win in the next turn.
Maybe next time I’ll bring Space Smurfs? Or Chaos? Or Tyranids?
Who knows!
Da uvver game!
I…
Well…
Uhm…
So I won again. With the new list.
My Shooty Boyz killed the Chaos General in turn 1.
My Trukk killed his dread in turn 1.
And even as my Slugga Boys got decimated and ran off the table: I still won.
Again a combination of me rolling great for shooting attack and my friend failing to save anything and not hitting anything in his shooting phase.
In the last turn I still had my Wartrukk and most of my Shooty Boyz. And the last standing nurgly deamon ran away… it ran AWAY!
There must be something wrong! XD
Da New List!
Let’s try this again:
Orks (1999) – Second draft – [655 pts]
## HQ [273 pts]
Warboss [273 pts]: ‘Eavy Armor [8 pts], ‘Uge Choppa [10 pts]
• 1x Wartrukk [35 pts]: Rokkit Launcha [5 pts]
• 1x Nobz [48 pts]: ‘Eavy Armor [8 pts], Waaagh! Banner [20 pts]
• 4x Nobz [28 pts]: ‘Eavy Armor [8 pts]
## Troops [382 pts]
Shoota Boyz [184 pts]: 16x Shoota Boy [8 pts], 3x Big Shoota [8 pts]
• 1x Nobz [32 pts]: Big Shoota [12 pts]
Slugga Boyz [198 pts]: 16x Slugga Boy [9 pts], 3x Big Shoota [8 pts]
• 1x Nobz [30 pts]: ‘Uge Choppa [10 pts]
Short reminder: we’re using the points values from the core rulebook. This is still a “635 points” list to match my friends 635 points.
Da Game!
Last night we played the first game of 40k 3rd. Well technically his first 40k game ever and my first 40k game for about… 20’ish plus years.
To say we had some trouble with getting the rules right would be an understatement.
630-something points on each side. His Nurgle Chaos vs my Sp’Orks.
And it went badly. For Chaos. Right from the start. I won the initiative roll and did the first move. Then he moved. Then I shot. (With Orks, mind you). I scored 5 hits with 11 boys. Orks! Hitting by shooting! Well, 5 hits on Chaos Space Marines. What could happen? 3 hits wounded and he saved 0 (zero). His 8 CMS went down to 5. That meant a moral check for chaos. With a 10 or less on 2D6.
Chaos rolled 11. ELEVEN!
Nurgles chaotic Marines FLEEING!
Because of Ork shooting! A bloodbath.
After that (in later turn 2 and 3) my Boyz slaughtered his Champion HQ, my Waaaghboss and his 5 nobs (all6 in Mega Armour) shredded his Dreadnought Bloat Drone proxy to bits. And his remaining 2 troops choices (daemons) failed to be summoned in turn 2 and where shredded after their arrival in Turn 3.
3 hours of chaos, shooting, wondering what happened to the dice and much MUCH reading of old pages.
Did we have fun? Yes, kind of. Will we play again? Probably. Will I use a different list? Maybe.
Now where to get more boyz on the cheap? XD
