What's better than an actual dragon? Not much I would warrant. But what would you say about the Pure Steam RPG alternative, a bit Steampunk Dragon?
Now sadly I don't imagine this will ever see the light of day as a proper model since its for an RPG but it will of course inspire some interesting fight scenes I bet.

I kind of wish that the Reaper and Pure Steam dragons were not quite so literal in the interpretation. My preference would be for something a bit more Heath-Robinson.
Would love pistons, pipes and boilers assembled in a more eccentric way.
Would possibly be a nightmare to cast lol
I like the idea of it being more of a construct than a ramshackle golem. The symmetry of a construct implies a more graceful and predatory feel.The reaper sculpt would be more frightening flying overhead snatching up wagons, horses or companions, but a crazy random steam beast would be more frightening in a tight dungeon.
I like that the aesthetic you describe, but have understood what made me think of an alternative.
Looking again at the artwork and WIP I realised that the torsos and limbs are too equine.
Would be better to have a more sinuous body to match the neck and tail with reptilian limbs.
The wyrm like form would be even better imho
