Im getting my Infinity starter tomorrow. I’d really love those minis.
Pre-ordering.
There is something about Infinity that is special. The game doesn’t have a ‘hobby’ aspect, it has an art aspect. The top end miniatures demand that you give them a special effort, and people simply can’t believe what they are seeing when they look at well painted miniatures on the table.
This is super exciting. I geek squealed a little. New models are awesome and I really can’t wait to see how hacking is changing!
Been looking at getting into Infinity. May need to preorder the new rulebook.
I had my gencon ninja pick up a copy of Operation Ice Storm for us to play and we showed it to the local Hawaii Infinity players’ group, they pointed out that there weren’t complete 3rd edition rules, but were very interested by the component. I know we’re all looking forward to the new full 3rd ed rules set.
Great – will preorder it ASAP ! Good decision to split the fluff from the rules – much more handy to carry out 1 book and the other is for the nightstand and reading 😀

I’ve never really looked into Infinity before but from what I see in this video it looks great. I’m really impressed with their focus on making it easy for new players to enter the game. If they keep that attitude they can only go from strength to strength as a company.

I have never played Infinity and have operation icestorm on pre-order! This new book looks amazing and I am almost positive I will get it, but going to try an hold off till I actually play my first game! So excited!!

Trollish? Far from it, just an observation, people make plenty of those about GW on here 😉
I don’t see it as trollish. Watching BoW has really opened my mind to how many cool rulesets there are for different games. It’s made me realise that GW’s stuff may not necessarily be the most up to date stuff when I compare it to others like Infinity.
The rules changes in the new edition make it more appealing. Infinity could be my next game !!

Carlos is just such a perfect ambassador for Infinity, his passion for the game and the design is just so contagious and its obvious he is almost as excited to tell us about whats coming as we are to hear it! I love my Tohaa but now there are evil ones i’m gonna be running a ridiculous amount of armies in 3rd edition 🙁 still waiting on my op. Icestorm even though I ordered day of release (damn you wayland games :S although I trust them completely to deliver). So looking forward to this week and thank you all for more Infinity content to pass my time till release!!! <3

Great stuff…Infinity has always been the best Sci-fi skirmish game with the best miniatures…and looking at Icestorm and N3….it all just got a whole heap better.
Order N3 on the day it was announce at my fav retailer…..just got the long haul till December now!

Some of the new, somehow ‘americanized’ sculpts and designs really don’t grab me. I’m well aware that’s what the market calls for. But I’m rather a fan of those old, at times quirky figures and artworks in anime style, ’cause that’s what drew me in first and foremost.
Anyway, this is about the rules, and I’m really looking forward to an updated and cleaned version. Curious what BoW may reveal here.
Yeah, the new American Ariadna trooper doesn’t look that far removed from a modern US soldier. It just seems very similar to lots of other ‘near future’ minis we’ve seen before.
The redesign of the Maghariba does interest me though – the scorpion concept fits the Haqqislam background very well.
I have to preorder N3 when I go to pick up my Icestorm-box. 🙂 Hope I can make that happen this week. Don’t want to wait any longer, since I’ve had the desire to start Infinity for a lingen time.

I’m loving how the art work and minis have developed since I started playing this game. Wasn’t a massive fan of the old Nomad stuff and the fusiliers. But now they’re the reason I’ve bought Op:Icestorm.
Can’t wait for it, going to pre order the book next weekend. Question is do I risk a wait for 3rd party retailers so I can save money, or go with the extra £, knowing that CB will likely ship quickly.
This is the question I’m wrestling with right now..

Looks like Dark Sphere have the cheapest P&P on offer, but I’m worried about Royal Mail delivery in time for Xmas if it really does get released on 18th (and want to be able to sit down and read it after eating far too much, then falling asleep afterwards in the warm glow of mulled wine and crap tv! 🙂 )

I have been thinking about starting Infinity for a while now but went for it today, picked up a copy of operation icestorm and pre-ordered the 3rd edition rule book, looking forward to getting home from work and cracking it open
It would be nice to have the whole coverart as a wallpaper really.
Also, the updates for the Hac Tao are most intriguing.
Wow. That Legate model looks amazing! I’ve had my eye on Infinity for a while, but I’ve got so many skirmish game projects going already. Still, maybe third edition is a good jumping on point…I hope this week will include a good, simple demo game tutorial video.

I have a question for Carlos,
So i want to know if Infinity have in their plan to make some cards for the miniatures? Or if you can have a printable PDF cards that we can print out to use when we are playing , from my self i found it really helpfull and the game can go mutch faster as i am not lost on my sheet of papers to find the info that i am looking for like special caracter hability, or different weapons stats etc… I am also playing some other miniature skirmish game like Mercs, or Warmachine and some other that works with cards and i can found the info really fast , i have a lot of infinity stuff (and would like more 😉 ) cause this game have a lot more to offer than the others , one thing can be great would be an app like warmachine have witch gives you cards for all the miniatures with stats , armour, weapon, etc….. selling the App can pay the programmeur and make guy like my really happy

I have to say one thing:
i’m trying to setup a RPG campaign in the infinity universe…. and i think that at some point publishing a rulebook is something CV should consider!
You could probably adapt GURPS Cyberpunk or any other generic cyberpunk ruleset to work for it. With a bit more work something like Eclipse Phase might even fit. The important thing is just to separate the rules from the setting and then carefully find the places where they have enough overlap that you need to massage it all into place.
3rd edition looks great. Just only for my FLGS to start taking preorders
I was really impressed with the new Combined Army Starter.. I play JSA and Ariadna and there’s still a lot of great stuff to collect from them, so all of this new stuff is driving me nuts! Lol!

Sounds vaguely promising, it’s just a pity the model is so bad. Is it too much to ask for a model with arms attached to the shoulders instead of being 30cm apart? Plus he’s as dynamic as GWs 10 year old offerings, hardly best intro to infinity’s style of minis.

I’m still not happy with the new cover art, but it will remain to be seen if this new, darker aesthetic permeates the entire game in the future. I certainly hope not.

Great news! Was wondering, did ever Corvus Belli considered putting cards with unit stats into blisters, like, for example PP does. It would a bit simplify things for new players. New edition looks like a right time for such upgrades 🙂

I have already ordered Operation Icestorm, and will be using it to run demos (I have a great demo table, terrain, 4 armies, and packets already).
It is a killer one box demo kit to get new players involved, and then they will be ready for the full 3rd edition rules!

@carlos @corvus Belli – I can’t agree with you more about how useful the ARMY 4 Online List Generator and the hyperlinks to the Wiki are.
The coordinated use of those two tools gave me such a greater understanding of the game than any book or beginner games with friends could have done.

@ 8:20 Nope, my copy of Operation Icestrom is not even in my store in Poland. I ordered my copy of O: IS July 29th. Back then CB promised to send a starter around mid September. We have mid october, I wrote two e-mails to the CB what’s going on. No replies. I understand it. Central Europe is no market for CB, USA is.
That Maghariba Guard might convince me to start Haqq, it’s so amazing! Looks wise I think it beats the Iguana!

Yesss!!! Infinity 3rd Edition is out for preorder. After Operation: Icestorm, I can’t wait to see what this baby is going to bring to the mix. But knowing CB, I don’t think I’m going to be disappointed.

Hell Yeah! Finally we’re here: the N3 week, though it’s not fairly near to assuage our fanatic peat!
Thanks Carlos ‘Bostria’ and Killian. Bostria to support his company like that but also believe in the game and the stuff he clearly like to play too. Killian to ask what a really involved infinity player would ask although if a bit restrained in the questions’ spectrum I suppose due to the situation aimed at creating hype. Finally Warren put that kind of Ferengi style interaction to stress points along others’ speech to highlight things to newbies.
All in all as a general feeling I do not like that they’re gonna make N3 in part dependable on Human Sphere and Campaign Paradiso. I hope they make it in a way to have a neat rulebook no matter that, some that I confess make me say that “I have a bad feeling about this…” hope to be contradicted though!
For the aesthetics I really like the new way even if I do like they would keep the anime flavour. Also the two books solutions it’s a good one, no need to keep yourself an heavy tome anymore.
So said, brace ourself N3 is coming … ^_^

Wow, the Umbra legate is really spectacular, can’t wait for the new CA starter.
I love Infinity. Even though I’ve never played a proper game I have 2 forces (Ariadna and Yu Jing) and refuse to sell them on as I love the IDEA of the game too much. I always thought I might come back to it one day and find someone who wants to play! Maybe new rules will be the perfect way to achieve that!

I’m thrilled to see another Infinity week happen. The one back in July got me so hooked on the game.
I saw someone say the preorder model looks a bit Rob LIefeld, and while I don’t necessarily disagree, here’s hoping the limbs are separate and ripe for conversion!

I do like the Russians, Scotts, and even the French. But it just seemed like the USA just didn’t get the love like everyone else. Which most likely boiled down to they had no good idea of how to make them different. Just loving everything I hear about 3rd.

Halfway through Operation: Icestorm missions now and already gagging for more N3! It still seems so far away.
Fantastic changes, so into my Infinity right now and my Operation Icestorm just arrived a few minutes ago ;0))
Well I am waiting for the book since I have pre-ordered it 😀 and I am happy as a small kid about it. I am however afraid of the game. When I see the painted miniatures I am sincerely scarred of taking the brush and working on them. I know my paint work will look at least poor comparing to this!

So excited. Just started Infinity and it looks like a good time to do so.
I like the idea of the art and fluff being in a separate book from the rules. Especially if there is a lot of art and fluff, or just lots of rules to go through.
A week is clearly too short to appreciate Infinity the way it would deserve, make it a Infinity month!

Iam realy looking forward to the new Edition. I paused Infinity now for ages. 🙁 Because all of my Teammates leave Infinity. But i hope with the cool new features and rule changes they will come back. The main point was a missing Index. I know its typical for germans, but it was very chaotic to find the rules when you need to find them in a game. I hope that this “chaos” will be reduced in the new version.

Have only been in the table top hobby for a month now, practising my painting and and assembling on ‘hand me downs’ and I felt I was finally ready to take the plunge into one wargame that gave me multiple play style options. I must say. Infinity has done that for me :’)
