Andy takes a look at the new Cygnar forces in Warmachine: Wrath...
the minuteman sounds like fun^^ just going after units like widowmakers etc and then trying to go after heavier stuff with its guns… sounds like the minuteman is a bit more focus effective than a charger.
the heavy jack adds something that you do not have that much of in a cygnar army. an AOE canon is allways a nice addition to any army. But would i take one over a defender? i don’t think so that heavy gun on the defender is just too good with its high range.
The Problem I have with gallant is its model…PP definitly has more beautiful models than this one….
concerning triumph, does siege have snipe? when this is the case triumph could have a 3″ AOE and 20″ range and 15 damage, which is actually quite nice….but 11Pts is still very much…
One thing i am looking forward to, is seeing some battle engines on the field. i really like the models of them.
anyway a great vid as allways, i am really looking forward to seeing your khador review^^
haha this looks so cool XD you need a fireplace in the back it would totally look like Andy the storyteller ^^
and long white robes and a longer beard, than we would have andy the white and we would never have to fear anything*g*
Andy needs a red bath robe with a big old pipe, then he is a true storuteller.
actually I realized there actually is a “fireplace” – the BOW logo ^^
Triumph is such a dud. There are so many little ways he could be better but isn’t.
Other than triumph, I like all the new stuff.
Runewood is probably the biggest unkown other than triumph. It’s regretful a unit with no non-combat action got reform from Runewood, It really doesn’t speed them up at all. He would be better suited at 2 points but he has way, way too many cool abilities to be that cheap. I think if you can sac. pawn enemy fire off to a jack and return fire with the handcannon as you close in while keeping up useful battle plans, he could be a star.
I like that the battle engines are only meh and not must-have purchases and I think the storm strider is right in the middle of the bunch. Despite not being able to boost, I still think the gun carriage’s mobility edges out the strider, but only because the enemy has to feed you tokens rather than boosting on your own terms. It’s still solid though.
I like the avenger a lot but I am concerned about range and speed on it. I lov that the kd effect is only on a hit, it’s like the devs said “we wont make this a critical effect, hitting on rat 4 is enough challenge”. It’s in the right faction for that challenge to be taken up. It has a weird ranged ironclad dynamic going on.
The minuteman looks like a sweet model. I am so thankful to get a mobile model with boostable guns stronger than pow 12. I don’t even care about the range, I’ll figure it out with that kind of mobility.
Murdoch is so cool. He has so many applications it makes my head spin. I love the idea of getting more from our wide range of mercenary options.
As for Constance, I like her on paper but she seems about as subtle as a 2×4 to the face. The enemy is going to see what you plan to do from a mile away and she has no trick to help it go off in spite of that. She just seems to need something like mirage or telekinesis to get that surprise factor. If it weren’t for her morrowan theme and melee buffs, I don’t think I would even give her a chance. I really hope I’m wrong here and something good comes from her because a female morrowan paladin warcaster is exactly what I’ve been wanting for years.
Cygnar is getting some nice new toys.
the jacks are awesome, the new casters are…meh, and murdok is perfect for my devil dogs. all in all, some great additions to cygnar.
Murdock sounds like a real tough trencher. I think I’ll try him out with a ogryn assault team .
As someone who is just getting into the game I would like to say thanks for this.
I have found resources like this invaulable, becuase it lets me know what’s good and what bad and even if those opinions are not correct it gives me a base line idea of what PEOPLE think.
It also gives a rough idea of what works and what doesn’t when your new and what to expect from the latest wizbang coming out.
Thanks for this.
What are you talking about?!? Precursors are the best cygnar melee unit, simply because they are reasonably cheap, have shield wall, spell ward, weapon master for one turn (which is usually enough) and, most importantly, ranked attacks! This means you make a precursor wall which cannot be blasted by chain lightning, debuffed by parasite or shot by house shyeel battle mages, and you fire away from behind with your gun mages like crazy. Your opponent has no choice but to deal with the precursors before he gets to even see your shooters.
I don’t know, I take them all the time before any other units like stormblades or stormguard, I even sold these units because I never used them, and everybody I know who plays cygnar loves these guys 🙂
I agree, I love the PKs, they make almost all my eStryker and eHaley lists. Positive Charge and Ctrl area buffs make them pretty sweet. With eHaley, they are DEF 15 ARM 20 against ranged while in shieldwall!
PKs can not have buff since they have spell ward, Meaning not even you warcaster can cast spells on them
solos look nice
Why do beast of war never have battle reports? Id love to see some warmachine battle reports from you guys, and id love to see darrell play his space wolves, make it happen 😀 thanks.
storm strider after reading up on all the battle engines is the best one but its not been play tested enough so to be sure will have to see what comes up of competive tornys.
The minuteman is just pure awesomeness in my opinion.
rest is rubbish
murdoch and nyss needs to be tested
nice vid
Good to see some warmachine discussion, could you do a similar chat re warmahordes as Warran and Mr Cheeses did on turn 8 re 40k??
ps
it would be improved by a teddy bear on the other chair and a big roaring fire behind them. “Are you sitting comfortably? Then ill begin….” 😉
Miuteman is all the cygnar I cared about in the book. Considering a cygnar army with just minutemen 🙂 Kraye could give them the run away after attack, making a really nimble but squishy army, could be fun. At 5 points they are a bargain and have something to offer most casters. Other factions came away better though
Why is it I am only thnking about Val Doonican talking about warmachine….
Is there some advantage I’m not seeing for leaping into an enemy’s back arc with the Minuteman considering it won’t get the back strike bonus unless it began its activation in the back arc?
Correct, It wouldn’t matter if you jump in the back since you started in the front arc.
lol he really doesnt like PKs does he, yet they are awesome, especially with their minifeat which you can get 2 units with in Blaizes tier list.
