Finally Free Nations is here. Already playing French in Team Yankee with housmade rules. Now I finally can use official rules and compare those too.

Excellent. I have to say, I think the ruined buildings in plastic exciting me most. Maybe even usable for dropzone with a little work.
I just this week finished painting a stack of 15mm tanks for Tanks and FoW, good fun to do. I think a set of Leopard AS1 tanks from B Squadron 1st Armoured Regiment would go nicely next to them on the shelf.

Be nice to know if there was a v2 of the rules planned. There’s a couple of things that could do with a little fixing.

Team Yankee reminds me of the war game series on PC. It would be fun to bring those battles to the table

At last the French stuff arrives (still amazed at how the French just designed all their tanks VERY differently from the other NATO nations). The French were always the “wildcard” in the possible cold war scenarios (on how closely they would co-operate with the other nations). Will definitely be building up a French army for TY 🙂
This would be a good time to jump into Team Yankee. But then, the Stalingrad project sounds great too. The terrain would work all the way to Grozny.
Absolutely ecstatic with the Free Nations release, but the plastic buildings are the icing on the cake. Can’t wait to field some French and Dutch forces, as for the ANZACs, how cool would it be to see WW3 move into Asia?

I remember when I was driving a Leopard. Would be nice to have some models of it.
I still need to paint up my Brits and find somewhere local to play 😉 That bit about sharing Nato equipment though… does that mean I can have an RAF Tornado though? When I last looked at the game, it had only been released for the Germans.
I remember reading the ‘Team Yankee’ book by Harold Coyle years ago, nothing like some Cold War action!

really want to start a Canadian Team Yankee force, although still short many T-55’s for my East Germans. also sounds like mid war flames of war is almost going to be completed soon

I am definitely going to start a Canadian force. Looking forward to the Stalingrad releases as well.
Been looking forward to this release since TY came out, playing with the smaller nations and their own armored vehicles. Great to see that battlefront is making these as well! I’m going to build a Dutch force with the YPR and PRTL models. Already have a Leopard II platoon painted up as the Dutch forces already. Now I get the official rules with them and the YPR’s I was looking for!

I have some plastic FoW and I was impressed by the detail and ease of assembly of the kits.

This Set would make a wonderful Dutch army… but I don’t know how to fit a BO-105 into this, because the tank hunter version was only used by Germany, Mexico and Sweden…
Anyway… as an upgrade for an existing Bundeswehr it would be fine, too 😉

Of course I had to attempt to try my luck with team yankee. My next big game. On a similar note, I am starting the British faction. What would be the next thing I buy after the starter, I was thinking either anti air or artillery. Any ideas please.

I’ve just about finished off my British Team yankee force and I’m really liking the idea of adding some Nato detachments from the Dutch or Canadians.

Great, cityfight is most interesting in wargaming in my opinion. And nice to see some love for “non-main” powers in TJ.
I really want to get into some of Battlefronts games. They seem like a fun scale to play.
i’m intrigued to look into 15mm and maybe 6mm games, tanks appeals more than infantry from a painting side, so i might take a look at these ranges soon.
