Modelling With The Boot Campers: The Afrika Korps Part Two!

Bob takes us through his experiences with the new Bolt Action German Afrika Korps plastic kit.

Everyone is finding them much easier and faster to put together and Bob is even trying his hand at some light conversion work.

I really like the new plastic afrika korps plastics

patrickkyle82

The new sculpts are amazing. They’ll be on my next order I imagine!

dorthonion

Waiting for someone to say ‘Ha! John, for you ze interview is over!’

jpmax

Glad Bobs enjoying himself.

warhammergrimace

I wasn’t planning of getting any desert troops but I’m tempted.

dukeexeter

I always kinda like the separate arms since it opened the world to soooo many conversion possibilities. Every new box I got was able to be customized so much more with bits from the leftover sprues of old boxes.

wilco92

curse flowing gun syndrome

rot6

the more i see of the kits the more likly i am to get myself some no matter how the weekend contests turn out :S

sneakyrabbit

Damn, great looking plastics

mc1gamer

That soldier has lost his head!

skodamarine

The more I see, the more I need some of these desert kits!

toricova

very nice details! I really love these models

phaidknott

Agree on the “floaty gun syndrome”, hopefully Warlord will rework the older kits to be in line with the newer ones (like they have with the American GIs). Not sure if the new GIs are suitable for N Africa campaigns in Tunisia tho (like the old set was), or if they are late war only.

rbwgames

The separate guns in the old kits is what kept me away from even thinking about trying them out. Now I have no excuse.

uberqfunk

I know it early days yet but the vibe seems sudate compared to other bootcamps. I sorta like it.

darkdanegan

I bet there’s a lovely smell of glue in that room at this stage of proceedings!!

collins

I never really had a problem with floating gun syndrome, it did allow for. A lot of conversation work to be done easily

andre77

Some nice paintings down below.

lawnor

Have you guys considered sending out the armies a week or two before the event so building can be done before the time?

mrtn

Bob, those painted guys look really nice!

beardragon14

Since Bob is one of the few I can match their BoW identity with real life one , it is good to see both him and his progress.

aurorainbag

They look great! So much done in so little time

jemmy

Some parts of the old plastic sets were a pita, but if these new sets are as good as the other (now not just as) new sets (US marines, Fallschirmjäger etc.), there´s no more Greek bread for me then!

somegeezer

Jerry looks good too

zorg

Tank’s where’s the tank’s.

georgesealy

Have their been any vehicle swaps I wonder? Both sides frequently acquired and put to use enemy equipment.

spacewolflord

It always made me wonder why it took companies so long to have the guns attached to the arm/hands?

silverfox8

Amazing, don’t know how they ever get to painting at a boot camp, guess im too picky with the modeling!

falerox

Great looking minis, amazed at how quickly they were built and painted.

doomzombie

Floating gun syndrome, now they where the days. It took all day to try and get the guns in hands, now it just takes seconds. I do like doing conversion work, and i will be having a go with the Afrika Korps.

fireblarney

They’re coming along nicely

cheezfriend

Bob sure can paint, superb

agashamirv

Looking forward to working with those new kits.

core8ball
