About the Project

This is a outgrowth of my Gaming and Grilling project. Perhaps my normy friends will learn to roll-play... Perhaps I will learn to enjoy board games... In any case, minis will get painted. In Strange Eons Even Death May Die

The intention was to get my normy friends into gaming while enjoying an afternoon of grilling.   We tried some 40K, but that didn’t really go so well.  In my opinion, you can’t play 40K casually, you’ve got to be invested in it.

So, where does that leave us?  We played some poker, we played some board games, but those kind of games don’t give me the immersion that I crave.  That really only leaves roll-playing, and my normy friends have not done it at all.

Most of my roll-playing was done in D&D 2nd edition.  I don’t think that’s going to be a do-able thing.  The only other roll-playing game I was really into was Call of Cthulhu.  To be honest, that’s a setting not suitable for normies.

However, I have discovered a highly rated board game set in the Cthulhu mythos – Death May Die.  I am thinking this might be a bridge to bring my normy friends into roll-playing…

In addition, it has some seriously nice minis.  My goal for the next two month before grilling season starts is to get these painted up.  I’m thinking quick and easy, base coat, drybrush, wash…
