Wargames Atlantic's Sci-Fi skirmish game, Death Fields Arena, is now available for you to download for FREE from their website. This will allow you to dive in with all sorts of miniatures from their collection and beyond and pit them against each other in arenas watched over by alien overlords.

Here's some of the background behind Death Fields Arena...

"For thousands of years, advanced alien civilisations have visited Earth to steal its bravest warriors. These soldiers are taken to fight, die, and be reborn in arenas throughout the galaxy for the amusement of thousands of systems. Whether you lead the elite Les Grognards or the desperate dregs of a Cannon Fodder team, your warriors are assets in a cutthroat business where victory is the only path to prestige."

Death Fields Arena features some fascinating mechanics that make it a quick, brutal and interesting skirmish game for you to play. The first of these key mechanics is Continuous Activation, which removes the traditional round structure. Players alternate single miniatures, going back and forth in a free-flowing phase where anything could happen at a moment's notice.

You also have a Stress System in the game, which introduces negative modifiers to combat and movement. This means that you'll need to balance aggression with holding off and tactical recovery.

Death Fields Arena is based on a d10 dice system, giving Wargames Atlantic space to play around with a wide range of skill levels for different units on the tabletop. Units themselves will also come with unique traits and statistics which set them apart from each other. Your Les Grognards will be different from your Raumjagers, for example!

Another nice element of Death Fields Arena is that, whilst it's brutal, the game isn't just about killing your opponent. It is about winning the "match" against your opponent and focusing on the objective as much as it is about gunning down your opponent.
