Trouble with Tough Dirt and Grime? Plague Marines

John checks out the Plague Marines for the Chaos Space Marines. A pretty nice kit in general, but for only seven models is it really worth it? Johns opinion here is that a bit of practice with Greenstuff would let you create them from the ten man Chaos Marine box.

Great set, – fun to build, – quick and fun to paint, and awesomley cool sculpts and details, – great 2 game with, although I would have preferred more of the flamer from the old plague marine havocs kit!
sweet 😛 btw are the noise marines any good? i realy want to start an army baced on noise marines 🙂
Yeh a noise marine army works I have a pre heresy emporers children themed army (using chaos marine rules still tho) and its a really good gunline army all i would say is you ahve got to tank something like a pred with lascannons to deal with enemy tanks. Also slanesh characters are great I have a lord and sorcerer both in my 2k list and the chaos lord always does really well with having blissgiver.
you might want to change starting scenes to plague marines rather than “plauge marines” other than that, ive got these and they’re fun to paint up
Awesome set but i would want them in plastic.
I love th fact you’re doing all the chaos stuff. Seems like you’re really catching up!
Yeah, great looking kit, full of characterful details – and he’s right ’bout converting normal CSM to PM, I rdered a box of 10 with the deathguard havocs shoulder pads bitz pack, the shoulder pads add the skillful sculpting and I just fleshed up the armour, damaged the weapons and so on – great fun and by the end of it I had improved my GS skill.
You’re gonna do some videos about Island of Blood, right?
Nice models, but once again I’m left wondering why, oh why, oh why are these not in plastic? Looking at the models, I can’t see any reason for it. Sure some of the bellies are enlarged which may make it difficult to match them to legs but is it really that difficult to restrict slightly the bulbous proportions of the Marine’s stomach in order to make the models much easier to work with, convert and use in other models.
Besides that little rant, I really like the sculpts. They are characterful and digusting, just like Papa Nurgle made them 🙂
My feelings aout the Plague Marines are much the same as with every nurgle themed model. That is that they are really nice sculpts, great representations of what nurgle stuff is supposed to look like it just happens that I can’t actually stand nurgles style. The Forgeworld parts are really good and not THAT much more expensive. It’d be about £40 for the conversion set (20 shoulder pads and 10 torsos with sculpted heads) and a box of 10 plastic Chaos Marines, compared to £20 for 7 metal ones, and you’d have lots of spare bits left from the plastic… Read more »
Hey I have a general point to make after seeing metal models in the video and others, and that it’s a bit hard to see the detail on them due to them being so reflective. So, I wondered if you could do what GW used to do in the back of old White Dwarf, mags, and put a thin black wash of paint over them, to bring out the detail. I know you’re showing them fresh from the box, but perhaps (if you can be arsed-it might be a pain to do each time lol) you could show them with… Read more »
Hey You Guys in UK. I am from Germany and i Play 4000 points Nurgle Marines. I wantet tio show you how i converted regular marines to plaguemarines: First i gave them Ghule heads from Warhammer fantasy to make them look less human. after that I cut off legs of a few marines and replaced them whith Greenstuff. after that I took the front half of the torso and cut off the lower part whith the cables and the other stuff. then i glued the Torso together and glued it on the legs. after that I sculptet the fat Plague… Read more »
