Taking a wild guess here but: money! Either the owners charge too much to make it a viable product or they simply don’t care and don’t want. I mean besides books and movies have there been cartoons, spin offs or even toys?

Other than the 3D print side, @zoidpinhead these are what I think of as Dune from when I read it in the 1980s. Before Sting ruined the franchise. And, he hid. The WORST.

@grantinvanman Yes. I think they are as legally distinct as they need to be. I’ve never understood why we haven’t had an official license for miniatures for either movie franchise, either the Villeneuve or Lynch versions. You’d think there would be a market for it and it is very war and combat focussed as a narrative so plenty to go at.

The company doing the rules and STLs are Crow Industries. They have a Patreon and do several other games including a mech game in addition to Sand.
The Skullforge Studios site has lots of stuff and you want the Oasis Imperium for the Sand miniatures.
Sand is a micro skirmish game intended for 5 vs 5 model count. -
