I keep missing the streams, it’s almost as if you’re in a completely different time zone. Loving the twilight paint jobs.

Really liking the skin tone on the orc, the scale difference between him and the girl on the base is going to be pretty impressive.

Thanks @while. Lighter colors like bone make shading easier and saves time. Other colore are viable as well so experiment!

There’s one advantage to falling behind on my reading, I get to jump from the last video straight into pictures of the finished product. Beautiful and a lot of fun to watch come together.

Really enjoyed this series – especially the last part where we got to see the armies clashing!
I do like modern, skirmishy-type fantasy games, but it’s really interesting to see fantasy games with more grand strategic feeling to them.

Collectables and randomised purchases are a very big thing in Japan. However, this is a very different aesthetic to the other such pieces on the market there. It’s a good design and marketing choice but I think it may still struggle to establish itself outside of the gaijin market, at least initially.

I tried out a few(4) of the alchemy paints with the Vallejo and mig thinners – 3 paint :2 thinner ish and sprayed the black bottle lids through the airbrush without primer – took a few passes, but essentially all worked and gave a good finish in one go.

Hmm. Looks like Spellcrow do some 10mm fantasy miniatures too, although possibly they’re just dipping their toes in a new thing for them…

If you look here (https://war-of-sigmar.herokuapp.com/bloggings/1978) at the second picture on the left is something like a Rhino they are probably sold in that one in stores, but who knows maybe you can get them in vending machines too.
Price listed there is higher though but I don’t know which one is rght.

Thanks @torros – I’ll check them out. I have a feeling I’ve seen some of Pendraken’s miniatures, although from what I remember they’re actually larger than 10mm. I know they do a lot of great 10mm ranges, but I think their fantasy one is larger… I’ve heard of the other two companies although don’t know much […]

One last thing I meant to ask – did you make those playing card sheets for the different characters as well? 😀

I only mention it, @avernos , because after this Weekender I found myself “inspired” to watch the movie again on Sunday – while painting a box’s worth of American Iroquois Confederacy natives. Seemed vaguely appropriate.

Second Edition was only the book. Not a boxed set. I think they wanted you to play with miniatures, but I played for decades with counters and it worked fine so long as you made the counter the right size. Romans vs. Celts, Vikings vs. Saxons, my friend @aras even set up some Teutons vs. Lithuanians vs. […]
