40K Battle Report – The Battle For Orks Drift

Supported by (Turn Off)

We're back with another Battle Report here on Beasts Of War for Warhammer 40,000. This time AJ is facing off against Warren in a Sci-Fi re-imagining of Rorke's Drift rather aptly and wittily entitled Orks Drift!

40K Battle Report - The Battle For Orks Drift

The Orks will be smashing against the defences of the Astra Militarum who take the place of the plucky British. Each turn the Imperial forces will be attempting to heal their soldiers and send them back into the battle while the Orks just bring more and more of their horde in to stomp, crush, maim and bloody those pesky humies!

This is going to be good!!!

“A prayer’s as good as bayonet on a day like this.”

This looks fantastic!

Expects some comments from me on this one! I will have to watch it one video at a time though as I’m starting my shift in a couple minutes and will only be able to jump in during breaks. 😉

I’ll catch up tonight. Glad to see some of da boyz in action! Waaagh!

daviedight

That table is very, very cool indeed.

blaeyn

Again, you guys start off with the end. Do you read the last page/chapter of a book first? What’s the point or sense of suspense in starting off the report with who wins?

happyhowler

Every new post is added at the top of the page as they play, dude. So you can follow along if you’re not on the other side of the ocean like I am. In the end though, the guys usually turn it all upside down so the first post gets back at the top.

tresilliian

Oh this is fun, had a really crummy day at work so this is something fun for tonight.

I saw that Lamenters stronghold when it came up on ebay a few months back. I thought it was a really cool piece of terrain, such good news that it went to a good home!

zorg

a great table & a win for the Emperor.

Ouch… Everything got messed-up… Really hard to follow now that it’s been turned upside-down… A shame, I would have liked to watch it all tonight but I’m getting tired of jumping from one video to the next… Maybe it’ll be better tomorrow…

warzan

Sorry about that, should be fixed now 🙂

happyhowler

Thanks ! Can’t wait to see the end of this! During my breaks, of course… 😉

mkus

Superb idea, it was a pleasure to watch!

Yes,
One up for the Humans over the Orks,

One thing i would say, if a figure died from over kill, as in twice his (T) then he should have not been able to return…

But that’s just me…

Hey

I think if we were to refine the scenario, I think that would be a good way to go.

But, the Imperials had a pretty uphill struggle, and with the strength of most of the incoming fire and attacks, there wouldn’t have been many getting back to the hospital at all.

A fantastic tribute to the best battle report to ever appear in white dwarf, Last stand at Glazers Creek, issue 222.

Superb battle report :o)

bucketknight

Great report as usual. Just watching both armies set up on that wonderful table was fun. It looks very cinematic. sure likes to live dangerously, setting up those Grot Jets on top of the tower.

aj86

It was a bold move, but it definitely paid off!

happyhowler

Interesting mechanics. A scenario that looked fun to play and was fun to watch. Congratulations, guys!

This is just great fun – not easy to paint to as always looking up to see what is going on… but still great fun!

Loving the classic necromunda wyrd pyro fig for the pysker stand in!!!!

aj86

I love all those old metal miniatures. I use the Telekine aswell. So much Character in those old sculpts

stusidle

I think the Guard equivalent of Surgeon Major James Henry Reynolds would definitely be getting an Order of Ollanius Pius medal (probably posthumously).

vonblue

i love the battle reports but could u guys put it into one vid to sit and watch rather than haveing to click play on each part, makes it easer to watch/lission to while painting models. only a though 🙂

perponcher

Took me a couple of days to watch all the parts but quite enjoyed it.

flojomojo

Awesome, guys! You’ve outdone yourselves with the terrain. I especially like the way the tension mounts during the game, I’m still wondering if the Orkz would have won if you had gone for 7 turns.
