The Gathering of the Commanders
Well here we are at the Dropzone Commander Autumn Invasion tournament. All the players are gathering. The Beast of War team are assembling.
Game 1 Rasmus
A nice 10-10 against Chris Rees, but a moral victory as the PHR manged roughly 1000 more kill points - great fun army list above
Resistance fail to deal with UCM
Ok first battle down for me a close run thing my Resistance put up a good fight but the UCM of David Ray my opponant sneaked off under heavy fire with 2 objectives. Good game hope I can do better next time around maybe.
Team BoW get a win
Two Medusas managed to wreck the 2nd UCM army they did go up against - 19--6 in ground control
Fly too high
Day 1 game 3 - the win in the 2nd game did send me all the way up to table #3 - and *auch* did I get schooled, by team Germany 20-0 to Lorn.
Most of the images from that game were not that useful - so I did add a few good army shots that I made during day 1

Resistance of Nova Sparta
Day 2 dawns and here is my Resistance force.
Yesterday was not quite as planned, started off with a close loss, followed by a total destruction, and pulled it back with a draw. Two battles today the first is a bunker assult. I am hoping after having words with Simon of Hawk that I don't get a 4th battle against a UCM army.

For the last 3 DzC, I have had a game against Ed and his exelent armies - some of the closest and most tatical games I have played
Last game
Last game against David Bonner were also a draw - David rocked a rather untraditional Shaltari build with 4 Samurais and 12 Rohin - no pictures from the game I fear - so here is one of an excel spreadsheet and a few other things like Hawk Dave holding court .
The Dutch team came up with the brilliant idea to have everyone sign a canvas for the Hawkwargames team
And @commodorerob playing his last game of the weekend.

Once I have a chance to look through them I have one more post at least of the armies when they were set out to be judged by Hawk-Dave
I was @commodorerob‘s last opponent and it was Resistance vs. Resistance. We had similar lists except that I am Allied (with the Warlord Retinue, plus 2 Zhukov’s and a Drill) whereas Rob is Feral (with Cyclones and a Barrel Bomber).
It was a very close game in the end with me sneaking the only actual VP’s by managing to drive an objective off the board in their Battle Bus in Turn 3. Rob was attempting the exact same thing with his home Objective, however I’d managed to get my Freeriders out of the Drill between his objective and the table edge and we BOTH basically spent the last two turns killing whatever had the objective at the time. I sticky mined his Bus and killed everything and so automatically picked up the objective with my Freeriders, which Rob then decimated with “drive-by” Plasma shooting from Veterans in another Bus. He also one shotted my potential escape route through the Drill with his Thunderstorm Custom just for good measure. The game ended with the objective laying on the ground in neither of our hands!!
We were close in Kill Points and so the final result was a very narrow 13-7 to me, it was actually much closer than it seems from the final score as I gained (and Rob lost) a Tournament Point for having 29 more kill points. I actually don’t like the Hawk TP system with regards to bonus (and negative) points for winner kill point differences as it makes close games like this less rewarding for the “loosing” player and doesn’t reflect the actual closeness of the result.
That said I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend at Invasion (first visit after starting to play 4 months ago) and I’ll be back next year.
@commodorerob and I started playing at the DzC bootcamp – I did go to the UK games expo tournament as well
